Did you even read my post? The companies haven't been related to each other in ages.

Yes I read your post but the main point is the same. We only separate brands if the vehicles are made in different places. Because otherwise everything is consolidated under the same brand regardless if they're "not related".

Anyway I don't see the issue. There are more Triumph bikes than there are cars listed on the site. It's almost 2:1.

Something I've been thinking for a while, would it be possible to split Triumph into two makes; one that made cars and the one that is still making motorcycles? The two companies have been separate since 1936 AFAIK. It doesn't make much sense IMO to bunch them both under the same "make", when any company connection other than the name is long gone.

What do you guys think?

Absolutely not. We don't separate brands because they made one thing and now make something else.

Like for instance we don't separate Peugeot between when they made sporty cars and terrible cars.... :p

It's mostly based off a Porsche 911. The rear fenders + rear design's shape seems to be inspired by a Ferrari Dino 246.

That's not how made for game works. A vehicles need to have influence to either multiple different vehicles so that no one vehicle can be id'd or be something completely fictional with no real world counterpart.

Idk if this counts, but you can access the airport early on game with the use of tricks and glitches. However going by that logic, shouldn't most sport cars, gang cars and boats be unlockable too anyway? You can only access them when you unlock the second island.

We don't really take that into account. I believe the other user meant like do you need to unlock the Dodo, since I think in some of the other GTA games certain vehicles won't actually spawn until you beat a specific mission and since you unlock shoreshide after a mission, that's what I think the intention was.

Any other changes in model are similar to the Duke where it's a removal of fenders or other incredibly minor changes. Never presented as separate vehicles, just options.

Ok, that's a bit too minor. Also presumably you can change them back.

As for the colours, unfortunately they need to be somewhat presented as different vehicles and not as just customization options.

It's a minor change, but the front and rear fenders above the wheels get removed with (I think) any size of tire above standard. The Duke is the only vehicle I know for certain has a change like that, but other vehicles might have similar changes.

With the colors the only one that has a different name is the Gold Standard, which is already listed as a separate vehicle.

Ok, so the fender thing is a no.

For the other ones, do they get presented as separate vehicles or are they just options for the vehicles that are already listed?

Some playable vehicles, such as the Duke, have their model change if you use a certain size of wheel. Should I add those images?

Also should vehicles that change color get additional images for each color scheme?

How drastic of a change are we talking? Could you provide an example (pictures)?

Unless the vehicles that change colour are presented as different entities within the game, no. Again you might have to provide an example of what you mean.

Not every car on this site, especially unlicensed models, are going to be 1:1 matches. By it's nature we try to make educated guesses on what the vehicle is meant to be based on from what is presented.

That said, the game car is clearly meant to be a Merc SL.

If it looked more like the 60s version than yes but it's clearly inspired by the 2002 concept car. Just because a game is set in a certain time period doesn't mean that every car the developers include will be 100% accurate to that time period. You can find many examples of such on the site.
