When the car appears in the pre-race cutscene you can see it's depicted with the four light look of the Aristo.

Ah. I stand corrected. It's been such a long time since I last played MC2 that I forgot it had a second set of headlights in cutscenes.

The game was developed by Yukes (A Japanese company), so that could be why a Japanese van that isn't common in the US was included in the game

The front looks like a mixture of a Venturi Atlantique 400GT and a Lamborghini Diablo (One of the later ones without the pop-up headlights obviously), the overall shape of the body looks like a Lotus Esprit and Aston Martin rear lights. Made for game.
