2019-01-11 02:45 | oh, and one other point: Blockland, if it wasnt apparent by now, isn't any sort of automotive game, just an old sandbox. it's only really like Roblox in regards to its LEGO-inspired building system. it's far more akin to Garry's Mod in terms of a one-time-payment, extremely open-ended and mod-reliant game, rather than Roblox which is more like Second Life in it's freenium formula and social aspects.

2019-01-11 02:43 | imo, the above is a very long response to a question that only needs a really short answer: the players create all these cars as mods, and whether or not they want to paraphrase or even create cars/brands from scratch is up to them. there are a lot of cars, but funnily enough, vehicles aren't even a shining facet of the game. (ironically, it's considered the game's weakest point.) the vanilla game only comes with the Willys MB Jeep (and a variant that flies?) along with some other vehicle types that are wacky in forms beyond cars eg. a ball and a magic carpet. the whole thing about RTB and the modloader are... irrelevant, i don't know why those were mentioned. the vehicles (along with other mods/add-ons for the game) do not actually have any total means of monitoring their distribution. the biggest interface program for Blockland, known as Glass, has it's own administrative force that filters the content through it's own modloader, and the forums for Blockland also has an admin that can "failbin" any content he doesn't want circulating, but there's little he can do to stop it outright. but since none of these people creating cars for the game are making money off of doing so, there's no reason to call for any restriction.

2018-10-14 17:42 | So, what you mean is that the vehicles featuring in this page were created by users and made official by Blockland forums moderators, who are also the game developers and that even if you dont have any mods installed in you version of the game you will still be likely to find any of the vehicles featuring in the page, kinda makes sense, but now i wonder what tools use the community members to make these vehicles? if they are the ones that make them.

2018-10-14 10:28 | Klumb3r wrote Someone other than Imperialist90 should check if all these cars are in the vanilla game I can explain the situation, and so can some comments from the main page for this game which I will repost here: 2013/12/15 Tycek: There is something to be explained here: are these cars just mods made by players or some official cars available to download? 2013/12/16 Ragref: well, it's pretty difficult to tell. before we start: the game is pretty small, with 50,000 users and only half of them are still active on this game okay, now we begin. you see, there is an official addon service called return to blockland. rtb has its own section on the official blockland forums. but, in order for your content to be put on return to blockland, it has to be approved by a person whos online name ephialtes, who was featured as a beta tester in the credits of the game (which you can access in the main menu) and in the credits for return to blockland, also main developer eric hartman (online alias: badspot) helped on the service so idk *5 years later, page still exists with moderator knowledge at this point* 2018/1/15 Imperialist90: I never knew Blockland had a page on IGCD, and I was excited until I saw how incomplete it was. I don't think it reflects well on our community or this game that a source of information has been left mostly abandoned, especially since it was incomplete and only had a select few vehicles to start with. As a result I have uploaded several more vehicles and photos for them which have come out recently and will be adding those yet to come. This game isn't dead yet. 2018/1/17 swindonswine: To be quite honest, I'm not sure if vehicles that are not in the base game should be shown here. That way the NFS IV page could be filled with hundreds of thousands of user-made cars. AFAIK, the only default vehicles are the Jeep, a tank, a plane and the karts. 2018/1/17 Imperialist90: I wasn't sure about that either, however vehicles not directly included in the base game have been on this page for the last 5 years so I didn't think updating the page a bit would hurt. One of the site moderators also asked for clarification above in the comments section awhile ago and didn't seem to do anything, so I assumed there was not an issue. At least this game doesn't have hundreds of thousands of vehicles like NFS IV as you say. I apologize if what I am doing isn't right, I'm just keeping the page for Blockland updated with the vehicles that are created for it and still to be used by most of the player-base (and released on the developer moderated Blockland Forums). The game is centered around servers created by players with the content that the server host chooses, and any player who joins the server will be able to use that content on the server even if they do not have it downloaded themselves. In other words, if somebody hasn't downloaded any vehicles they will still likely come across most things I have added here. Since the outdated version of the game's page existed long before I came here and with a moderator knowing about how the game works, I didn't think there would be anything wrong with updating it. I would also like to clarify that this isn't a Roblox copy, as development of Blockland started around the same time or a bit earlier. The building aspect is also much closer to that of actual LEGO toys than Roblox is.
