I think Noko Tau's shot for this car is fine. Also I suggest taking pics where the wheels aren't spinning, it's always better to see them. Also which name is correct? CarbonR or Carbon R? Because those in older GT games are listed CarbonR

I wouldn't say 'poor man's minivan', but rather a slightly cheaper alternative.

When the 2004 Prius (second generation, XW20) came out, it was only slightly over $2,000 cheaper than a base model 2004 Sienna. When the 2010 Prius (third generation, XW30) came out, the gap was around the same, if not slightly shrunken.

Of course, two years later, the true Prius alternative came out, the Prius V...which was actually more expensive than a base Sienna, by $250, though today the base Sienna has widened the gap over the Prius V to about $3,100.

Personally, if I was going to consider a car a poor man's *insert bodystyle, model, or brand here*, the price difference would have to be at least $5,000 between them.

Like, a Buick Regal being somewhat of a poor man's 3-Series, with the gap between a Regal and a 320i being just over $6,000.

Yeah I meant it wasn't simply an S21 coupe running down the same assembly line as the sedans. It was a coachbuilt car that was largely hand-made in Italy.

Hand built bodies, certainly. However I doubt they were made in Italy. Designed by the Italian Giovanni Michelotti, but built in Mitaka, Japan just like the chassis & engine. Japan has an extortionately high import tax¹ on cars and car parts so for a car that would be primarily sold in Japan I don't see them paying more for importing bodywork from halfway around the world than they could possibly get for the completed car itself.

¹ This is why Mercedes are more of a status symbol in Japan than say Astons or Bentleys. An RHD Aston or Bentley in Japan could be mistaken for a clone kit car however an LHD Mercedes would be more obviously imported leaving little doubt as to the owners wealth.

Here's where I differ on the site thinking for a change. Mk. I isn't needed for the Skyline Sport because there was only one generation. It's redundant. Show me a Mk. II Skyline Sport and I'll shut up.

Edit: I see the problem. We've been listing it as an ordinary Skyline. It should really be listed as Skyline Sport. It was a totally different car line from the mass-produced Skylines.

It's true that the Skyline Sports is actually a seperate series. So Mk. could be removed, but then the full name has to be Skyline Sports instead of Skyline.

Wasn't sure about naming this MK I since this certainly isn't the first Prince Skyline. There were six variations before it. Giovanni Michelotti's¹ BLRA-3 might be based on Takuya Himura#s S21s but obviously significantly different enough to warrant a new chassis/ body code.

Just remember that 1200 is simply the displacement, not the model name, and it increased over the lifespan of the car. In addition, it varied depending what market the car was sold in. For example, all 1966 Beetles were 1300s in the USA:

Usually there is a rhyme and reason to the way things are organized on this site, even if it may not be immediately apparent to new users.

I think you're misinterpreting the name "New Beetle". It doesn't have to be the new and current model, all it is is a modern version of the classic Volkswagen commonly known as the Beetle. Volkswagen always refers to this car (the A4 Beetle) as "New Beetle", so I think listing it as simply Beetle is wrong.

Totally agree. The A4 has officially been called "New Beetle", while the A5, ironically, only "Beetle".
