2012-04-06 00:54 | If I can throw 2 words into your discussion: Zastava Yugo? Thats what I thought after a while looking at it. It has the same "edge" at the sides of the roof, the a-, b-, c-pillars are alike, the doorhandles and the part below the side windows, etc. And I know that the taillights and the size of the trunkdoor dont match. But for the Golf and Panda this counts too.

2012-02-14 12:21 | - So it's a torino just because you say it is, never mind that the details of the model don't match. It seems you're not interested in listening to others opinions or taking anothers input into consideration, so literally whatever - I'm going to wait for more images from other angles for identification. End of discussion

2012-02-14 01:04 | - There I go trying to have an intelligent debate and you jump straight to insults? I'm not talking about the swinger or the sedan I'm on about the sport, where the fastback roofline & C pillar is an exact match, although I will conceed the A-pillars match in the same way that they match most other domestic cars. This doesn't appear to have the more formal notchback that the torino has (although we'll have to wait for images from the rear to confirm that). The fenders are round - there are no sharp 'creased' edges like on the fords sheetmetal where the top of the fender meets the hood (thats what I'm referring to, not the wheel arches). This doesn't seem to have the small flares at the top of each arch or the central crease down the side where the chrome trim usually goes on the torino either. -- Last edit: 2012-02-14 01:05:13

2012-02-13 22:52 | The fender arches aren't round, nor are they as small as the Dart's. Plus, look at the shape of the roofline-you're clearly blind. And the Dart is boxy-no round curves whatsoever. It's obviously a Torino. All they did with the rear fenders is remove the buldge.![]() (that buldge) -- Last edit: 2012-02-13 22:56:20

2012-02-13 20:18 | I don't know where you're seeing torino/elite in this. The roofline, pillars and entire front end (fenders and hood included) don't resemble it at all. The general body lines of this car are too rounded compared to the edgy/sharp lines on the '74-'76 torino. The few details on the model that match the torino also match about 60% of most domestic US cars in the mid '70s. I'm going with '71-'74 duster/dart coupe as more of the shape and body lines match '74-'76 Elite '74 Dart sport coupe

2012-02-10 18:52 | Who changed it to Dart? This is either an Elite or a Torino.

2012-02-05 17:44 | Badger wrote Because it's custom-painted. Back to the identification - I am aware that some parts resemble a Peugeot 106, but overall it much better matches a Golf/Rabbit. And we have to keep in mind, that this game takes place in the USA. I'm voting Golf/Rabbit. Wait, so you're saying just because it takes place in the USA, a Peugeot hatchback cannot be in the game?

2012-02-03 22:21 | One thing I can say it that its definitely not a Fiat Panda, the Fiat is to boxy, the windows are different, the wheel wells are to square, and the rear end is shaped different...Also definitely not a Peugeot 205, the windows are different, and the Peugeot is to modern in style...I also don't see much Renault Le-car either, the wheels are really the only thing that matches a Renault Le-car, the Renault Le-car's rear end is also much to slanted. Now, the main reason why I think its a Subaru Rex and not a Volkswagen Golf MK1, is because the Volkswagen Golf has a less slanted rear end, and a longer front overhang. While the door, shape of the front end, and shape of the rear end look quite close to a Rex i.drom.ru/~autovl/catalog_photos/subaru/rex/subaru_rex_2570.jpg I do understand that the taillights look different from a Rex, but I think there just aftermarket.

2012-01-29 22:36 | IkusaGT wrote Newport not so much, body shape doesn't match. yep, the roofline doesn't match the newport but its got the overall chrysler corp early '70s fuselage styling. I can go with demon/duster although it looks like a full-size and not a compact, which the dart/demon/duster was, but then again that doesn't matter too much with unlicensed cars hehe.

2012-01-29 22:25 | ta-caprice-xi wrote I'd suggest leaving this as "Unknown" until a front view of the car can be provided. Given the fact that every other stock car featured so far is based on an american vehicle, I highly doubt that this is a Fiat Panda. I've seen some dev interviews and it's probably worth pointing out that the demo derby cars aren't licensed, so this could very well be a Golf with altered styling. By the way, how on earth are people thinking it's similar to a Panda anyway? Even if you took all the plastic trim and bumpers etc off the real thing, the only thing that these two vehicles would have in common is that they're both hatchbacks. The Panda is much boxier. commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Pandabj1991.jpg Exactly! It's much more boxier, and it has square fenders, and the windows on the Golf/Rabbit are just like the ones on this car, and it also has circular fenders......so who's the idiot now, Jam? |
