The M270 MLRS is the specific name for the vehicle and missile system combination, so using it here when the missiles are different could be inaccurate. Similarly, the Vought Corporation was only responsible for the design, while manufacture was contracted to multiple firms including Lockheed Martin. The carrier vehicle is known as the M993 and is built on the chassis of a BAE Systems Bradley. I suggest we list this as a BAE M993, but I'm no expert on military vehicles (I just know what to look for on Wikipedia) so can anybody with more experience confirm that identification? |
