Razor440 photo_librarymode_comment 2016-04-21 22:39 | I loved that segment from Top Gear, though I want to yell at Clarkson on how the Chrysler 340 isn't an engine that turns "torque into noise" However, he says something different in The Sunday Times... Jeremy Clarkson wrote The engine was a Chrysler 6.2 V8, which turned money into noise but produced very little by way of power in the process. He instead says it's a Chrysler 6.2...which is 380 cubic inches...oh wait CHRYSLER DIDN'T MAKE A 380! I think he meant a 7.2, as Richard Hammond called it in the review of a 1968 Dodge Charger he was driving. Of course...this wasn't all Chrysler's fault. He continues... Jeremy Clarkson wrote ...Which was probably a good thing, since the enormous live rear axle wasn’t really attached to the car in a way you’d call finished. And to make matters worse, Jensen would simply pop down to the local supplier whenever it needed a steering rack and come back with whatever was on the shelves. Some Jensens, by all accounts, were accidently sold to customers with steering designed for the Triumph Stag. That explains a ton. That is something he would say...after all he is Clarkson. |
