Same devs would reuse this design in their next game Derail Valley Yes, it's been confirmed by Slobodan that the DE2 is in both games (from Altfuture Discord, 19 June 2019): "Yes both DV trains exist in Switchcars. Along with some of the upcoming ones" (at the time, only the DE2 and S282 were in-game) He's also said that the DE2 "drew inspiration from a diesel-electric shunter used in Serbia" (ZS 621/CD 709), and for a while, the DE2 was called "loco_621" in the game files. I think that's quite strong evidence for it being most similar to a 621.
