2024-12-04 00:59		Actually, the original style was the standard, with the more conventional version, officially known as the WBH, or 'Without Body Hardware' was an option package on the first gen Avalanche.

The original style version had darker cladding for the 2003 model forward, as well.

Not a 2005; either 2002 or early 2003. In late 2003, the front end was switched to the more conventional Silverado "cateye" design.
The early style was still available in 2004-2006, it was an just an optional package though, and it was standard on the 2500 models.
