I don't agree on that, although the more recent designs indeed are closer to their real counterparts. The nice thing though is how Rockstar can blend two real cars together into a balanced design (except that new Ferrari/McLaren thing). Cars in Watch Dog in comparison don't look like existing cars, but horribly forgettable and uninteresting at the same time.

this car reminds me of K.I.T.T from Knight Rider, except he had a red light bar on the front bumper.
