Don't you also leave the level by interacting with this car despite it going up in flames? It's been years since I last played so I can't exactly remember.
That's a nice sight! One of these is a regular customer at the mechanic shop I pass everyday coming home from work.
Hovercraft Bel Air, I don't know I needed that in my life.
I always see these things jutting out of the forest near barns and rickety homes on my way to my parents cottage, unmoved for decades. Gonna be rad to wheel one around a derby track!
Perhaps the oldest car in the whole game. Wonder why it appears only once...?
So far the closest resemblance to a real vehicle. Looks like a mid 60's Volkswagen Minibus ballooned into a School Bus to me.
This particular model seems to be sinking into the ground, seems to be a mappers rookie mistake.
Wow, guess the Valve modelers finally got some extra work! Anyone know the year?
Remember when Carl Pilkington came up with the idea of a car/portapotty hybrid that ran on your own poop? =P
AutoTracker wrote Peugeot 406? Quite odd for a NYC police car... I believe the team that worked on the CGI cutscenes were based in Europe and modeled the police cars off of a french sedan and figured no one would notice, hehe.
A placeholder model for the non-wrecked taxi-model that was never finished. Funnily enough, the 2008 build's FAV doesn't feature 2 front wheels, rendering it undrivable.
A non-wrecked variant can be seen here www.gamereactor.no/media/30/theyhunger_83077.jpg Apparently this taxi was to be featured in a scripted introduction where an untrustworthy taxi-driver takes the player on a shortcut after a questionable trek across the countryside and inevitably crashed the car after playing chicken with a train.
Same model used in Day of Defeat. Both use very detailed custom textures.
Same model from HL2 but features an appealing custom texture. -- Last edit: 2019-06-17 06:27:07
I'm so happy to see Buick's mother-of-all flagship models make a comeback after such a LONG absence!
Must be a retrofitted Caprice, lol
Nissan Sentra. Same car model from Resident Evil 5 and Operation Raccoon City. Just with higher resolution textures. Anyone know what year? -- Last edit: 2019-06-10 06:17:40
Looks like a late 90's model to me.
The Time-Traveling F-150 took the WORST turn at Albuquerque! I think they were vying for a late 90's F-150 but overshot it. -- Last edit: 2019-06-10 04:52:18
Volkswagen Jetta Police? What an odd choice...
Aw man, looks ready to rock and roll! all it needs is some new tires!
Sexy! Saw one of these rolling down the road on the way home from work as well!
What I'd give to drive and modify this D:
Sadly, this is as close as I can get. These trucks appear in the airplane level and nowhere else.
What an absolutely bizarre name for a car!
Oh MAN the repairs after just a week of service would bankrupt the whole department, lol!
The Apocalypse may have rocked the world, but ain't nothin' is gonna stop the Food Truck Business!
Okay, this model is pretty rad. I have a big soft spot for Muscle Car's sporting Police colors.
I gotta admit, the Mad-Max Tractor is a rad edition to the game!
Seems like they took some liberties with the design of the Humvee due to that lawsuit last year. If only Am General cared as much for the armor of those things as they did for their copyright protection maybe a few more US soldiers could have made it back home...
This vehicle looks WAY too pristine compared to every other vehicle in the game, looks as clean as the preserved Converga in the Mothership Zetta DLC for F3
Seems way too modern for the late 90's setting
Considering the Raccoon City Incident occurred in 98', this Wrangler model is an odd choice...
Looks like a mid 90's Suburban to me due to it's length and shape.
Lol, pretty much every bike I experience ran off to the right or left and exploded. Had a few times where they exploded next to me and I lost half my health. During some chase segments, I kept hearing them run into traffic behind me and explode on their own accord!
The only non-motorcycle vehicle you can drive in-game. And it handles... somehow worse then Bigrigs! You see, they didn't bother changing the physics properties of the vehicles so the truck handles like a motorcycle and has the weight of a tissue box!
Despite the fact that the motorcycle customization is super in-depth, it's all wasted on some of the worst motorcycle controls I have seen in a game, and I doubt I will experience something this bad ever again. So, basically, the physics are not tied to the player's movement. Rather, the bike is in near constant motion when the player kicks off during driving segments in the story. Trying to turn around or stop by any means necessary is negated by this force that is endless pulling the bike forward while simultaneously making it impossible to toss the rider off his bike. Hell, you can't even have the bike fall over! The best way I can describe this gimped system is simple. You are being TOWED by a ghost truck! I can't even begin to comprehend why the dev team considered restraining players movement to such an unbelievable degree of linearity. -- Last edit: 2019-01-05 07:01:59
You know, it doesn't look half-bad for such an old game!
Car even seems to have fans in-game considering the bystander in the interior shot!
A higher quality variant of this only appears in the parking garage segment, I just forgot to take a picture of it D:
Klumb3r wrote For all these pictures, I used FreeCam, and this car is very far from the main map, and it only appears once, it's strange Really? How odd. You'd think a dev team would want to utilize the most out of their model assets.
Looks like a mid-90's Sierra with... Chevrolet Astro grill and headlights?
Modeled after the GTO seen in the 2004 movie. Funnily enough, they built several GTO stunt cars for that movie as they intended to have a big chase but ran into budgeting issues when the state demanded millions of dollars to shut down the highway for filming.
For such a tiny model, I'm surprised they added the little touches of an interior!
Very nice touches with the rusted frame. Most driving games even today miss that detail!
Huh, some dude at my local grocery store still dailies one of these things.
Good eye, Mel! | ||
This is probably the most multicultural car discussion I've ever seen. It's also the most common car model in the game, appearing two dozen times in almost every level.
Would need to get some moderator involvement to clean up the page. I wanted to replace the images for the prior uploads but I could only do so for interiors or views from the other side.
Wow, that thing just barely appears in anything, both games and movie wise! |
