This game is full of problems, and removing/canceling cars from FM7/FH5 is only one such example. There's other issues like glitches, crashes, and the Metacritic AI review manipulation.

We know for a damn fact this game is worse than its predecessor in so many ways, and it's going to take a lot to convince me otherwise.

I uninstalled it. That's all I need to say. I fully paid the Premium Edition and I really regret it, I no longer care about this game, I did for the first weeks, but seeing the big picture on this game...I have no hopes on this, even if all missing content from FM7 is eventually back...it's still worse than FM7 all things considered.

One of the biggest mistakes on gaming history hands down, considering how big the Forza franchise is. How they managed to get it right every 2 years on a row for more than a decade and then failing this hard is plain impressive. I think (and most people agree of course) the golden era was FM3-FM4, but I enjoyed FM5-FM7 quite a lot too...but this...what I hate about it is how it killed my eagerness to complete a Forza game, after a while, I just felt too overwhelmed I couldn't take it anymore. Again, I just stopped caring, I'll never complete, or even half-complete it, but...meh, whatever.

Don't get me wrong, if people can still enjoy it, I'm happy for them, but for me, Forza Motorsport is dead in the water. I really hope a next chapter is still possible and a big comeback is still a possibility, but for the time being, I'll stick to FH5 and FM7 if I want a modern and decent Forza experience.

@J-2 Went on GTPlanet and asked for images for the AMG Hammer Wagon. Wondering why there wasn't any promo photo for one?

Because, according to TheAdmeister, it's horribly modeled. The greenhouse area looked chopped and it's terrible looking.

Just saw the picture...I'm speechless. It looks like they went the old ol' FM1 way of making cars by eyeballing it, there is no way that aberration was created by actual proper means and tools (laser scan, point data, photogrammetry...or at least good picture reference and some effort?)

Just lost my interest in the pack. No wonder it was the only car not to be shown, it was already bad by itself, but paying for that? Wonder what went wrong there...

Weirdly, it's not the N version...also seems the rear model badge is gone.

Some say it's because in Portuguese it means a certain word, thus why it's called Kauai there instead, but that would be plain stupid...of course after the SS affair, who knows what lengths MS will go to avoid offending every single human being, so go guess. But since it's still called Kona in every menu and place, it doesn't make sense at all.

I wasn't even aware of this game until today, when this comment has become even more relevant, 4 days after official release, the ENTIRE studio has shut down!

I dont necessarily think this game does everything worse, thats inaccurate. Rivals is better, Qol done there is great. MP is leagues ahead but still needs work. Core gameplay itself is miles ahead of any of their previous games. Game has solid infrastructure to work on and improve. Ai has pace but racecraft is non existent that needs alot of work. what they've been doing for last 6 years, not sure.

Visually game suffers with bugs and oddities with materials and lighting. Hence why no entries yet.
Artistic direction is weird. Game lacks sharpness and vividness all previous Forzas have. Reflections can be stronger.

Ive taken few test shots, game can look very good under some conditions. But I'd rather wait for 1st few major updates game gets hopefully visual inconsistencies and specific car bugs are ironed out. Until then I'm buying all the cars (I'm aware you can rent, not a fan of sticking to default color options)

I respect your view, but sadly, after a few other tries of playing it, I'm raising my bar to I just plain hate this game, don't care about what does best anymore, it's like saying the Titanic while breaking in half still looked elegant.

Tried to make a race in Silverstone a few minutes ago, in order to get the Acura 'prize' car. Way too many loading screens, too much info before starting the race, the practise laps suddenly start in a place within the track you better recognize fast before you start driving, then the race, starts out of nowhere, no countdown, without time to react, sound gets stuck 10 seconds even when paused. Tracks keeps disappearing. I get so many penalties for getting off course I end up finishing 12th. Restart the race? You will be selecting again your place in the grid, checking all the driver's info again, all the loading screens...just wanted to restart the race, not the whole event to be reconfigured from scratch, so I better turn on rewind.

Still cannot import my FH5 stuff (at this point I don't feel like doing new stuff on this game altogether) and maybe the stuff I already shared has been stolen, since downloaded skins and tunes might do so unlocked, so people can do as they please.

Game's a joke, that's it. I look back at FM2-3-4-5-6 and 7, especially in the golden days of FM4 when I was still doing the shots for IGCD, and I just want to cry, they murdered the franchise. So much is broken, even at design level, I don't think this can be fixed even if they care and try, looks like it was made by a bad AI prompted by some accountants that only want to make money, but forgot that quality means sales first.

I might be too negative, but honestly, I can't find a redeeming feature in this mess. FM5 again was really poundered 10 years ago because of the lack of content, reviews show that. I defended it, thought people were unfair, I too missed a lot of things that never returned, not only then, but even today, but the game was enjoyable, felt complete, solid, stable, felt put together nicely. Looked amazing, played amazing. Now, every time I think about giving this another try, I just feel overwhelmed, as doing a chore you need to do, but don't want to. You shouldn't feel that with any game, and personally, feeling that, with a Forza title, is something I'm still trying to process, I just can't believe this is happening...

J-2, who used to handle past Forzas, just could not bring himself to play it on PC (as I frequent GTPlanet). He's gotten countless problems with optimization and his passion is making authentic liveries, which I do like (and have used his full Blue Meanie Brock Commodore plenty of times), but with this entry he has had nothing but serious problems with importing designs. The bug list is the size of Prometheus and many Shakespeare works combined, worse than FH5 of all things.

Exactly right. Right now, 3 main issues are:

1-FH5 import is broken, will not sync designs and/or vinyl groups, funnily enough any other Forza titles work, so I was at least able to import old designs from FM7 and before, but sadly I started work on a complete Nissan R391 with a Le Mans livery in FH5 before the game was released. Spent hours doing really hard logos with little to none real life references to look at, and I'm not redoing them in FM just because they can't make it work, which connects to the 2nd issue:

2-The editor lacks ALL of the improvements made to FH5, the UI in FH5 is very visual and quick to work with, you can access options really quickly, the vertical layer view is nice, the car can be seen around nicely with great lightning and control over the camera. In FM23 they just took the one from FM7 and made it somehow worse, I don't like working there at all. The most simple things are now broken, a very good example extends for example to long lists. Let's say you're browsing the car catalog or your garage, you select manufacturer list view, and of course, if you want to go to the end in one click, simply hit LB to go backwards and start on z right? You can't now. You have to move forwards no matter what, and that was just a very specific and, in the big scheme of things, small issue, there are so many it makes my head spin.

3-Yet another issue to a feature I was looking for, now you can 'rent' any car of the game, paint it, and sell the design, so you don't go bankrupt trying to buy the needed cars first, and of course...it's broken. I successfully managed to try it twice, and after the 3rd time, after rebooting the game and the PC, after 2 patches...never got the feature to work ever again. Every time I select a car I don't own to paint, it just keeps loading in a loop. Not crashed, game is still working, but will not exit the loop, you need to restart the game.

So yeah, long story short, I can't enjoy driving, painting, taking pics or even take a look at cars due to all the visual bugs and issues, poor shaders and rendering (the game looks bleached out) so game will wait until it lets me enjoy it, not the other way round.

In fact, I could offer myself to start doing some pics if speedfreak975 agreed but so far I haven't been able to do a single satisfactory picture. So yeah, not looking good for now I'm afraid, game feels somehow rushed after all these development years, and at this point maybe is a good idea to actually start over and throw this to the bin, it's Titanic being patched one rivet at a time while it sinks, there are worse games out there? Definitely. As a Forza game, this is the worst one? Hands down. In every single way.
Nissan Tsuru

Forza Horizon 5 (2021)
TheGreaser a écrit
Considering this car had over 4,000 votes on the suggestions hub I can see why the Tsuru was needed for Mexico since it was iconic there.

That's the main issue with the car list in FH5, they didn't focus on the local car culture, they just recycled what they already had and called it a day. With FH3 and FH4 the local content was flooding from the start, and this Tsuru should have been from the beginning too (they really thought people wouldn't push for Mexican market cars? Especially with FH3 and FH4 as examples, as if Mexico doesn't deserve that attention) and in fact, when announced I was expecting at the very least the following cars:

-1999 Dodge Ramcharger
-2014 Mastretta MXT
-1969 Shelby GT350 (Mexican version)
-1981 VAM Lerma
-2003 Volkswagen Sedán 1600i Última Edición

And the Tsuru of course. Again, sourcing and licensing are nightmare worlds of their own, but it looks they didn't even tried this time...
Nissan Tsuru

Forza Horizon 5 (2021)
Funny how they had a really hard time finding a factory stock version for sourcing, and even though this is really clean, it still has some issues, such as the missing Nissan badge in the rear, an aftermarket switch in the interior, left of the steering wheel (probably to manually activate the radiator fan) and most notably, a missing cover in the central tunnel just in front of the rear seats which allows you to see technical parts normally hidden beneath.

A rare example of racing game with Porsche during the EA exclusive license period.

Well, I personally would dive deeper into that statement, FM1-FM3 were great examples of that on their own, having Porsche included in the game since day 1, with no DLC involved whatsoever.

FM4 is actually an even stranger example, since even though Porsche had to be added later in the game lifespan, it's only the 2nd game in history to feature both RUF and Porsche cars in the same game (the first one being Test Drive II) and that will sadly probably never happen again...

Surprised it's a RHD car, not a LHD example.

Sourcing has been quite a mess historically in Forza. Ideally each model should represent their country/region, but we have a mixed bag, some JDM models are JP-Spec, some are Euro-Spec, some US-Spec...some classic British models are LHD, some European cars such as this and the newest Audi RS4 Avant are RHD, and more...I think the only thing left to see would be a JP-Spec US car, such as the Mk.V Mustang in Gran Turismo.

I understand they take what they can gets their hands into for reference, but still, it's quite a weird mix of specs all across the list.

I wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts on the new game, J-2. :) For me, I haven't played Forza in years, and looking back the series peaked at FM4, IMO.

FM 2023...Worst Forza ever made. Period. They had extra development time, they had plenty of content and features available not from previous titles, added since this very game, and they delivered an uncomplete mess of issues and missing content. Cars, factory colors, tracks and some variants, features...so much is missing.

And of course...'built from the ground up'...no. The FM1/FM2 inaccurate models are still there (the 22B at least is supposed to have been redone, need to check that) cars that were fine have several issues now, tracks are not even up to date (Spa is several years old, Barcelona only updated the layout, not the surroundings, and as stated, variants are missing such as the Club one) the livery editor is worse than ever, the photo mode didn't get anything new from FH5, just a handful of career races available at launch, and none for racing cars...and way more things. And don't get me even more started on issues, hundreds of known and reported ones. It's just a very unpleasing experience. PC version is awful, the popping is so bad the track disappears and reappears every single second, people with RTX 4090 and 64gb RAM have the same issue, it's literally unplayable right now.

I know they want to play the long game here, but they do need to take drastic measures now unless their plan is to kill the Motorsport division based on poor reception, and just focus on Horizon, FH5 is very well loved in comparison. Played every single Forza since the first one, and never had such a bad feeling on day one before, again, FM5 feels like a GOTY in comparison. I defended Forza when it was fair to do so, but this doesn't deserve that, I can't believe the team looked at this and thought 'yeah, fans will love that, release it!' Sad thing is I wasn't expecting a revolution here, just FM7 as a foundation, with better physics (I do have to say they are really great, not everything is bad) but this feels like FM5, but worse in every way.

Yeah.Total 325 cars.Turn 10 was hurry made this Forza Motorsport.

That is true, it was rushed to meet the release window of the Xbox One in 2013, so they had the same amount of time to create it as the previous titles (2 years) and even though the amount of cut content was not much justified (many returning cars were brought straight from FM4, both good and bad models) the visuals were amazing, the new engine allowed finally for open-wheeled cars among others...

I remember it as a very enjoyable game despite the cut content, as compared to FM 2023...this feels like a GOTY in comparison. This was way more solid, stable and well done from the first second, with FM 2023 they had way more development time and well...let's just say they have tons of work ahead.
