generalrusty78 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-05-26 00:28 | Yeah I'm going to say it's a 66 Caddy because that is going to be the closest we're going to get, it's rear is from a Mopar, and Mopar never really got into the stacked headlights craze of the mid to late 1960s, aside for the Plymouth Fury, and the Fury's headlights are connected to the grill, while this isn't

Fisico9798 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-05-25 23:23 | OK, it's not exactly a Pontiac Bonneville. The front lights are, as already mentioned by my prescriber, the only thing from a Bonneville. The rear and body type of the car are different from the Pontiac. That's why I think we should edit the car again to unknown. Until it is confirmed, what car it really is.

twilight sparkplug photo_librarymode_comment 2020-05-23 11:32 | yep number is engine type. That's why I ask is it possible to tell such cars in a game? if they are not specifically listed, and licensed. just saying its kinda hard to judge unless the game gives hints? Drove an 87 CJ6 for one single year. Missed out on my change to have a v12 there huh? hah maybe one day. Still never has a v12 car.
Silnev photo_librarymode_comment 2020-05-23 01:12 | twilight sparkplug wrote Not sure on these ones. Any way to tell between the 6 8 and 12? other than badging? I was going more on the design of the rear taillights rather than the front. The taillights look like the ones used in the 70s rather than the design they used in the 80s. Also from what I understand the number denotes the engine type. So XJ6s had the inline 6, XJ8s had the V8 and XJ12s had the V12. Also the XJ8 came later in the 90s. So it's either an 6 or 12. -- Last edit: 2020-05-23 01:15:37

Fisico9798 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-05-21 20:24 | As with the San Francisco standard car (Ford Fairlane), I also think the ps1 version of the L.A standard car don't needed a separated page either, cause it looks also identical, like in the later PC-Port. But here as bonus i add these two pics of this car, from the original PlayStation 1 version here in the comment section of this car:
Fisico9798 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-05-21 00:06 | This car is exclusive in the original PlayStation 1 version. It appears as standard New York car in the game for Take a ride Mode and driving games mode. But in Undercover mode it has only one Mission were it appears. New York City Mission - 'Luthers Heap o Junk' The front grill as mention from others in earlier comments is from the Buick Regal that appears in the earlier Miami mission 'Hide the Evidence': igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=345 I think that it is a custom made Buick Regal Hatchback. But Chevrolet Monte Carlo or Dodge Magnum XE are also not wrong. Despite the front grille of the car which is definitely from the normal Buick Regal. Honestly, it's hard to tell which car it really is.
Fisico9798 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-05-20 23:52 | As with the Ford Fairlane, I also think the ps1 version of the police car don't needed a separated page cause it looks almost the same like in the later PC-Port. Fisico9798 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-05-20 23:41 | Here as bonus the secret Mercury Monarch from San Francisco in the PS1 version: There are three unused cars on the PlayStation 1 version. The beige-brown colored Mercury Monarch is one of them. I have no idea why Reflections didn't included this car in one of the San Francisco Missions on PS1 version. The only way to drive this car is via Cheat device, Gameshark or X-Ploder Codes It's a shame, cause the car is complete finished, like the other unused (secret) cars also.

Fisico9798 photo_librarymode_comment 2020-05-20 23:23 | Here as bonus the secret Chevrolet Chevelle from Los Angeles in PS1 version: There are three unused cars on the PlayStation 1 version. The green Chevrolet Chevelle is one of them. I have no idea why Reflections didn't included this car in one of the Los Angeles Missions on PS1 version. On the PC version it was possible to switch the cars, in some of the SF and L.A Missions in a garage sequence. This is not possible in the ps1 version. Also, unlike in the later PC-Port of Driver, after beating the Undercover mode you don't unlock all cars like it was in the PC counterpart. The only way to drive this car in the PlayStation 1 version is via Cheat device or X-Ploder codes It's just a shame, especially because these unused cars are completely finished. I think Reflections should made it possible to unlock them on PS1 version after beating Undercover mode.

2020-05-20 22:18 | It was featured in the final mission (and oh god, that was so, so, so unbearable ). You are escorting the President out of harm's way and literally every single cop in New York wants to pummel your sedan to the ground. Your felony starts at maximum, there's so much traffic and worst of all, it's snowing, making handling the sluggish sedan twice as worse. And if I remember correctly, you're also on a timer.

2020-05-20 22:15 | I remember this. The only appearance outside of Take a Ride was a Miami, Florida mission where you take the Superfly car to a lockup at nightfall. The mission was practically difficult because you have a significant amount of felony (which means the cops will take free hits on you, and it's worse because the car provided can turn over easily) and you're on a timer. Fact: This is the only Undercover car that's faster than the ones you are provided throughout the whole story. |
