Horsepower figures are incorrect: the 178hp engine was only on the A3. A 1999 Audi S3 should have 207hp.

I would take one without the windshield over the Elise any day. :D

As far as it competing with Lotus, I'd imagine it would compete with the 340R before I'd think the Elise

From what I could tell from reviews, the Spider was heavily outshined by the first Lotus Elise, which was released around the same time. (As was the Caterham 21 which might be even less known than the Renault). Some issues were its weight compared to the Elise, stock tires, lack of a decent roof and the gearbox. There was also a speedometer taken from the Twingo.

But Mustang is still a mainstream car. :p

The '32 ford would have been better if it had some REAL purpose other than a hot rod.

Volvo is a resonae answer.

Spykers are fine, but the whole point I that we need uncommon cars that aren't extreme hypercars.

Not really. They all need to have a lot of popular cars, but there are pretty often unexpected cars in racing games. Look at NFS 2015 with its 3rd gen Mustang, its '32 Ford and its Volvo 242, or even The Crew's C8 Aileron. How often do you see a Spyker in an arcade racing game?

And btw, why this one should be a bad car? Uncommon car = bad car? I don't get the logic. There are plenty of great cars which are uncommon in videogames.

I can't find any official source, but people tend to put Renault Sport instead of Renault all the time while it isn't even a real brand. The French Wikipedia page calls it a Renault Spider, but the English page calls it a Renault Sport Spider.
Also, they're all listed as Renault Spiders here.

It isn't a bad car in any way. It was made for sensations rather than performance, but it's still faster than the Clio Williams which nobody ever say is a bad car.
