I feel that it should be ID'd as the same model as the texture, it doesn't really look like a VN anyway.

Because the Jinbei is a license-built version of the Toyota HiAce. The front is different, this one is definitely a Jinbei

the image you posted is under the "Albion Chieftain" category on wikipedia commons: commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Albion_Chieftain so model name is definitely not "Lorry" although thats what they are classified as

This thing is totally a Honda Acty. The front end headlights and lines are a match to the 1990-1992 model. The front bumper signals are fudged a bit, but the grille also matches.

It's not much, but according to wikipedia, Permanent 4 was the 4WD version from 1990-1992. It was renamed Q4 after that.

Same vehicle, basically. The Tico was just a badge engineered, South Korean built version of that same Alto.

But, it's an Alto because it's Japan. If this map was set in Korea, then it probably would be a Tico.

The wording looks the same but blurry, it has the text on the grill, and the same placement of stickers and such in the windsheild. the same green safety vest seems to be hanging over the passenger seat still too.

Yep it seems they do.
And I think the only difference betwene the Kingstar and the Jinbei is the grill shape.
