I did it with Ford RS200 and Audi Quattro s1 (barely), during the split screen play with Rubberband on.

fontheking5 SE (0)This does not have the drivetrain from the 205 T16, it would not be legal.
It has a 2 litre 4 cylinder engine, taken from the standard 206 model, and tuned and turbocharged to give 300 hp, in it`s wrc state.
You can only use parts that came from the standard car in order to comply with the rules, ford did use a water pump that was not taken from the standard car, and they got disqualified from the 99 Monte Carlo rally because of that.

2004 Volkswagen Polo S1600 IV [Typ 9N]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Terrible acceleration and heavy, this car does reward the driver with the opportunity to learn stages early in the game - but, to be fair to the little Polo, when setup properly it is a very fun little car to drive, does like to be thrashed about, and comes off as being very confident as a race car. As I mentioned at the begining though, given it's weight and lack of acceleration, you do need to plan your hairpins and the like carefully otherwise expect the little Polo to bog and sap you of a good stage time. 2009-07-09 22:48
2000 Volkswagen New Beetle RSi [Typ 9C]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32A solid, good rally car. Dull by comparison to the other cars in the game and only because there's little that seems to throw this car off. It's happy on either Tarmac or Gravel stages, but, one has a hard time finding a stage where it isn't comfortable. Acceleration and top end speeds are very good, but, nothing extraordinary. As mentioned before, it like the Golf R32 and the Audi A3 uses the same 3.2L V6 and 6 spd gearbox in addition to the same 4WD drivetrain. 2009-07-09 22:46
2004 Volkswagen Golf GTI V [Typ 1K]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Odd thing about this car in the game, it is supposed to be a Turbo-Charged car right?, well, on the "dash" there's no indicator light for the Turbo. Now, I'm sure this was an oversight when the game was developped, but, anyone that knows the GTI series of Golfs know that they all used Turbos on their engines. Neverthless, you can hear the Turbo as the car does it's thing, and again, one wonders why it's not mentioned, even in the description section of the game. 220Hp on tap from the 2.0L "Turbo" engine, add with that a very good 6 spd gearbox and a solid frame, this has the makings of a very sure and confident hot hatch rally car. 2009-07-09 22:43
1993 Toyota Celica GT4 Mk.V [ST185]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Fantastic! - nothing more needs to be said about this car, a terrific AWD system, very, very good gearbox, solid frame, quick, and fast car and light. One of the best 4WD cars in the game. 2009-07-09 22:36
2004 Toyota Celica GT-S Mk.VII [ZZT231]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32A fabulous 2WD car, simply fabulous. Not very powerful mind you, and with the gearbox set to it's neutral settings, you never need to make any adjustments. Wheel hop is fierce off the line, but, the car does calm down once it gets going. Very sure of itself it's a great choice once it becomes unlocked. Kinda wonder though, turbo-charge this car and give it Toyota's excellent AWD system, and you can't help but wonder just how good this car would be? 2009-07-09 22:35
2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Series II [GD]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32The car that started it all, this is a great car, and there's no denying that. 300Hp on tap, a great 6 spd gearbox and a fairly solid structure. This car loves Gravel stages, but, seems equally well suited to Tarmac. This car will give you quite a workout on tight Tarmac stages like those in Japan, but, with the ratios in the Gearbox set to their neutral state, the car does impressively well. As one of the two choices with the Audi, you'll have a tough time deciding, but, keep this in mind when you do, the Subaru is lighter. 2009-07-09 22:32
1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STi Series I [GC]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32While this car is a classic Group B, it feels something of a let down. Now, I know, I know, that's a death sentence as Scoobies are supposed to be great cars, well, this one is, but, it never gives any impression that it's fantastic. By comparison, the Toyota Celica Turbo 4 feels like it's hair is always on fire, the Scubaru here feels like it's been sedated. That said, it's a solid car, takes beatings a lot better, and when pushed rewards the driver with a sense of accomplishment. Acceleration isn't great for this car, but, top end speed is very good. Hair pins are a breeze with this car and it does extremely well in tight tarmac spaces. 2009-07-09 22:29
1986 Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 Evolution 2
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32A car I consider to be a lot of fun to drive even if it might be a little bit of a handfull. This car and the Ford RS 200 are probably the only Group B rally cars that are the easier ones to drive. That said, this car needs to be treated with respect, it can end up a problem child if you aren't paying attention. I have learned that the Peugeot 206 WRC car adopted the same AWD system that was found in this car, but with a few Hp less. 2009-07-09 22:24
2004 Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution II
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32With a really nice V6 engine and a good 6 spd gearbox, the Pajero EVO is a fun 4x4 to drive. The engine revs higher than the LR Defender's 6, but, the trade off there is that is makes you want to thrash it about more, and, with a little practice and the right setup, the Pajero can end up being faster on similar stages that the more civilized LR will rally on. Top end speed doesn't seem to interesting, but, it's acceleration where this vehicle scores high marks. 2009-07-09 22:02
2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII [CT9A]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32On particular note too is this, once the EVO 5s were no longer seen on Rallying Circuits, this EVO had a problem, the front and rear overhangs - that combined with it having the longest wheelbase compared to the other cars in it's group, you do have to work to get this car into tight spaces, but, with enough practice, it's a rewarding experience. 2009-07-09 21:59
2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII [CT9A]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Of the Group A rally cars, I have found the Mitsu to be the fastest, and possibly the quickest car in the bunch. I have managed a top speed of 144Mph with it, so far, no other Group A car has come close. It's very delicate easily busting itself up on gravel sections. The Mitsu is good on Gravel but seems to be an animal on Tarmac sections. A RHD car, odd given that the large percentage of cars in the game are LHD. 5 spd manual gearbox is very good and rarely needs any modifications to have this car bring you to top place. 2009-07-09 21:57
2002 MG ZR Super 1600 [X30]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Essentially a tuned up Rover 200-series, this little pocket rocket is considered a good advantage over the VW Polo. It's a lot faster off the line than the other basic 2WDs, but, the gearbox could use taller gears through 4th and 6th, I have to say though, a tough little car, very quick, and respectably fast - good choice once it becomes unlocked. 2009-07-09 21:53
Land-Rover Freelander M-Sport Series I [L314]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Well, brownxjs that may be, but, you have to admit, once unlocked it is such a nice ride. The Pajero is fun but feels constantly lairy all the time, never really sitting down and taking a moment, the Land Rover on the Other hand is a relaxing Sunday drive, my preferred 4x4. 2009-07-09 21:49
1977 Lancia Stratos
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Next to the Ford Sierra Cosworth, the Lancia Stratos has to be my fave. This is the only car too that will take jumps very well, literally flying over them. The engine is the Ferrari Dino V6, and mated with a great 5 spd gearbox make this RWD a joy. One can appreciate why it did so well in the Rallying circuits. Takes a little getting used to initially, but, when the car is setup correctly, it will prove to be a very easy car to handle. Not as at home on Gravel as some RWDs, but, loves Tarmac. 2009-07-09 21:47
2000 Ford Focus WRC MkI
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Claimed to be the "point and click" of Rally cars. At first one wouldn't think such a monicker would apply, but, after a few races with this Focus, it becomes readily believable. It's a lot of fun to drive, it does love being pushed and when setup correctly will reward you everytime for your efforts. There's something though, almost all the Group A rally cars seem to have this crutch, delicate - Ford claims to have reinforced the body using more weld points than the standard car ever would need, but, that strengthening never seems apparent. The Focus seems to do extremely well on Tarmac and has fantastic top end speeds, and enjoys being bounced around on Gravel. 2009-07-09 21:44

1968 Ford Escort MkI
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32The classic Mk 2 Escort, what's not to love? - I'm glad this car has a lot of stages for itself to Rally with, and with 210 Hp and RWD it can be a really nice car to drive, that said, one more gear in the Gearbox could be appreciated, but, the car does have acceptable top end speed, and with the Gearbox setup correctly, acceleration is quite good, there's only one thing to remember, despite what it is, as a RWD you do need to be careful opening the taps on hairpins and other tight bends, while spinning the rear wheels is fun, the amount of opposite lock won't be enough to save you from the car losing control. 2009-07-09 21:40
2004 Citroën Xsara WRC
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32With 310 Hp on tap, the Citroen Xsara has the other Group A rally cars topped, and those extra 10 horses show their value on Tarmac sections. This car loves gravel and the right setup makes it a very enjoyable car to Rally. That said, like the Mitsubishi, it can give the impression of being a delicate car, but, that all depends on your setup. 2009-07-09 21:36

2004 Ford Fiesta Super 1600 Concept MkV
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
VanMan629I agree with Murf32, it's a very nice car, it 's light and it's handling for me is just brilliant. I would be happy to take that to any rally on any day. It's that good a car, and not only is it good on mud, I find it very good on any sort of terrain. 2009-01-24 20:05
2004 Renault Clio V6 2 [X65]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32For the only RWD of the 3 2WD Super Class cars, and that it does sound like the Mitsubishi Pajero, this car is alot of fun to drive, and, is very quick once it gets going. Acceleration is quite good and control from the mid-engined V6 and 6-spd manual is a fine layout, and makes for one of the better of the 2WD Supers. This car doesn't (at least in the game anyway) suffer from the awful turn circle that the car was supposedly known for, but, that's something that the player can adjust. Good power - 255 Hp, from a 3.0L V6. 2008-09-21 07:53
1967 Morris Mini Cooper S [ADO50]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32By far the sweetest Rally car in the game. It's suggested that it be used for getting familiar with the stages in each of the maps. I still believe that this car should have had it's own challenge stage, or at the very least a proper Rally setup to race it with, after all, it was raced in rally circuits and did exceptionally well. A hoot to drive, even if it doesn't have the biggest engine - 1275CCs, nearly a 1.3L and giving 100Hp, with a 4-Spd manual, the car makes the stages a little long, and a little dull as the car is stiff, and a little hard to make mistakes with. 2008-09-21 07:47
2004 Peugeot 206 WRC
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32I love this car!, the Peugot 206 made me smile when I first laid eyes on it, and I always cheered it on when it was bombing around in WRC circuits. When CMR5 gave me the option to drive it, that smile always appears. In fact, this car makes me feel so giddy, that I get disappointed when the stages end. This car really is that much fun to drive. It supposedly uses the drivetrain from the old 205 T16 Group B rally car. Only this time, the fire breathing bull that came from beneath that car has been subdued...but, only a little. The 206 still demands respect, but, will make sure that it gets you to the finish with a great time. It's supposed to be boring to watch as the AWD system is so clever to prevent wheel spin, but, not in the game as doing drifts and 90 degree wheel spining turns is what makes this car sooo much fun. Highly recommended when it gets unlocked. 2008-09-21 07:42
1985 Lancia 037 Rally
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Technically a Group B Rally car, I was suprised to not find it in the group with the other Group B cars. The Lancia 037 is too, in a class of it's own, the only car that is Supercharged. That's a good and a bad thing, while the Supercharger provides players with immediate power (as befits a Supercharger), the 325Hp doesn't seem like alot, but, the car isn't heavy, and because of this, this car can be a handful, don't be suprised if you find yourself using the brakes in conjunction with the transmission/engine to help slow down this monster. Still, a fun car, good too when it's properly setup. 2008-09-21 07:36
1985 Ford RS200
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32A car that one can take or leave, the small 1.8L Turbo 4 cylinder engine is supremely powerful, 450Hp!!, combined this with less than perfect brakes at first, the player is forced to really work hard with the Group B cars, and while this is probably the slightly more forgiving of the 4, the Audi being just the most bonkers of the lot, the Ford RS200 is a good Group B car to drive. Tall?, yes, but, can I suggest that lowering it enough helps the jitteriness and sporatic volcanic acceleration of the car. 2008-09-21 07:31
1993 Ford Escort RS Cosworth Group A MkV
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32A beaut. The reason why anyone wouldn't want to drive this car in the game would be beyond me. Even without the upgrades, the engine, and other upgradeable parts still make this car seem quite capable all on it's own. The 2.0L in 4 produces 300Hp and is Turbocharged, so, it's practically in the same power league as the Group A cars, and the weight is again the same, 1230Kgs. Once it is armed with her upgrades, it is a delightful car to drive. Very competent, very sure of itself and very confident, never feels quick, but, the acceleration is quite good. 2008-09-21 07:27
2004 Ford Fiesta Super 1600 Concept MkV
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Really nice 2WD car, I don't like the nasty wheel hop that occurs when the throttle is mashed. The tach needle seems like it wants to do a 360 rotation of the dial. But, it is the more powerful of the 2WD cars in the FWD class, its 2.0L in line 4 cylinder engine burps out 220Hp. The fact that it's not the heaviest also helps, but, don't let that fact put you behind the wheel too quickly, it takes time to get to speed, the other 2WD cars get to their respective high speeds quicker than this car can, but, it is very sure of itself. 2008-09-21 07:21
2004 Citroën Saxo Super 1600
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32One of the more enjoyable 2WD Group N Rally Cars. Naturally, the 5th and 6th gears of the car seem a little close, I would have loved a little more in the way of RPMs between the two. Nevertheless, while acceleration is really nothing
to write home about, once the car gets going, it's a whole lot of fun. Naturally aspirated 1.6L 4 Cylinder engine that produces a healthy 210Hp.
2008-09-21 07:14
1981 Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 Turbodelta [116C]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Not the most powerful of the RWD Rally Cars, this one has to have the near 2.0L 4 Cylinder Turbocharged engine, and puts roughly 150Hp to the rear wheels. There are times when it likes being pushed, provided you set it up just right. But, here's a problem, there's not much in the way of an aero pak to keep the car on the ground, so, even with not much Hp, the rear end WILL go all over the place and the car literally WILL turn into itself if you're not careful. 2008-09-21 07:10
1984 MG Metro 6R4
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32This car is insane. The 6-spd manual transmission is clearly insufficient. A 10-spd manual is what it needs. Set this car high up on the Gearbox meter. Anything lower for ratios is pointless. Great little car though, again a good choice in the Group B, pitty that the Renault wasn't along for the run. 2008-09-19 23:21
1969 MG C Sebring Special [ADO52]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Absolutely delightful car to drive, I say that there should have been a little more to the racing of this car than simply 4-6 stages. One of the nicest RWDs in the game. 2008-09-19 23:19
1992 Lancia Delta HF Integrale 1a serie [831]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Virtually impossible to break it's suspension upgrades, as the frame is so stiff, but, once done, for this class it is the most powerful and very, very good. Not the quickest, but, given that it does have the aerodynamic properties of a brick, well, what do you expect? 2008-09-19 23:18
1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth MkI
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Combined with the Ford Escort's similar Turbocharged 4 Cylinder engine, this RWD Cosworth Sierra is the most stable of the RWD cars in the game. More powerful than the Alfa Romeo, not as good for jumps as the Lancia Stratos, far less
nervous/jittery than the Lancia 037, this is the RWD car you do want to drive alot in this game.
2008-09-19 23:17

1999 Volkswagen Golf R32 IV [Typ 1J]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32Volkswagen Golf R32. Nervous car sometimes, 2nd best compared to the Audi, and quicker than the Beetle. Again, all share the same drivetrain (FE/AWD) have the same 3.2L V6 and the same AWD system, and, the same 6-spd manual. 2008-09-19 23:12
Audi A3 3.2 quattro [Typ 8P]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32By contrast to the Audi Quattro Sport, this is the far more stable of the cars in the game. Part of the Group A Rally
car selection. The low revving 3.2L V6 is sooo nice. Along with the really nice 6-spd transmission and lovely AWD, it's alot better than the R32 Golf, and the Volkwagen Beetle Cup RSi. The last of the 2 mentioned all shared the same
drivetrain and engine, but, the Audi is the best of the 3. Go figure.
2008-09-19 23:10
1986 Audi Sport quattro S1 B2 [Typ 85Q]
Colin McRae Rally 2005 (2004)
Murf32The maddest group B rally car in the game. By contrast, the Ford RS-200 is tied with the Peugot 205 as being the more controllable or stable cars. Adjusting the gearbox to the higher ratio makes this car easier to drive. Being a
Group B Rally Car, it is "the" most powerful with its Turbocharged 5 cylinder engine and 6-spd manual and AWD.
