Chevelle is an ordinary musclecar that obviously can be inspirational enough to copy it. As far as I'm concerned, it's indeed hard to believe that Chevelle is the car that solely brought the Sabre on the scetch-board. I'd say the car is cropped from several A-body musclecars. I'll say there are three different cars in this one, rear is Oldsmobile 442, sides are from a Chevelle or maybe even a Beaumont Acadian and I figure the front looks like a Buick GSX.

2008-10-08 01:59 | The problem with trying to ID cars in many video games is that many times they are just too generic. Or sometimes a mix of 2 or more cars, then what do you call it? What the front looks like or the back? The thing is if your knowledgeable enough about cars, you'll probably come up with something that fits the design more or less, but it's unlikely that it's what the game designers had in mind when they did the artwork in my opinion. For example, Skid's pic above of the Rambler's grill does indeed look more like the voodoo's because of the indents in the upper and lower parts of the grill, but being a low rider type car, it's much more likely it's an altered or made up version of the '64 Chevy grill. The roofline is similar as well, though I posted a 'vert. -- Last edit: 2008-10-08 02:00:10

2008-10-08 01:52 | It doesn't really look like anything real. More like a early 90's concept vehicle with the big wheels and short over hang. It's just another another made for game car.

2008-10-08 01:41 | Right but the "fury" script on the quarter only appeared on '57's (I think). I agree it's a Belvedere though. I only said Fury because 99% people only know these cars because of Christine...

2008-10-07 23:43 | What in the world is an Oldsmobile 44? This car is a little bit of an amalgam...it has a 1970 Buick Skylark front, the mid section from a mid '70s Camaro or Firebird, and IIRC the rear panel was from a 1968-1972 Pontiac Gran Prix.

2008-10-07 23:32 | 440 mopar wrote How can you fools sit there and say this is a Chevelle. Enlighten me and tell me what on this car looks like a Chevelle? Because sadly, this site is overpopulated with kids who only pretend to know something about about cars. I can't count the number of times American muscle cars in games are just identified as "Dodge Charger," because a loose-lipped 14 year old from somewhere like Eastern Europe identifies it as a muscle car, yet Dodge Charger is the only muscle car he knows. The car is a 1970 Oldsmobile 442 W-30 with a slightly altered grille, the same as the Sabres in the previous GTA games. I don't see how anyone with eyes, especially not after 440 Mopar posted the various angles, can dispute that.

2008-10-07 23:23 | It's a 1958 Plymouth Belvedere. All Furies in 1958 were painted Buckskin Beige...the dark color seen here does not appear to be accurate to that. It also lacks the "Fury" script inside the side spear, near the back by the taillights.
