Need for Speed II (1997)
G-MANN UK (51)

The Esprit feels pretty tame compared to the other supercars and concept cars in this game. With a mere 175mph top speed it often gets left behind by the 200+ mph cars.

Need For Speed 2 was rather different to the original since it deviated from the previously realistic nature, settling for a more arcade feel that we are accustomed to in modern day Need For Speed games. Ugh.

1996 Ford Indigo
Need for Speed II (1997)
G-MANN UK (51)

This car's in-game top speed is 186mph. I don't know what it was capable of in real-life, only two were made, only one of them was fully fuctional, the other was just a display piece for auto shows. I don't know if they even bothered testing it properly, it was never intended for production, it was built only to showcase Ford's Indycar techology.

The Ford Indigo is the unlockable bonus car in the game, to get access to it you must win the tournanent by competing against 11 other cars (driven by the computer) in 6 races which take place each of the tracks (except for the Monolithic Studios bonus track), at the end of each race the winner recieves the most points, and at the end the player with the most points is the overall winner. Unlike the other cars the Indigo only comes in one colour, red.

1995 Ford GT90
Need for Speed II (1997)
G-MANN UK (51)

This car's in-game top speed is 222mph, making it the second fastest car in the game after the McLaren F1. I'm not sure what the actual top speed of the real car was, all I can find are lofty estimates.

Destruction Derby Raw (2000)Star Wars Fanatic EN (487)After a 4 year hiatus from the Playstation, and a new developer after Reflections departed to concentrate on the Driver series, Destruction Derby Raw saw a drastic change in the series. Notably, in comparison to its predecessors, there was a far more profound selection of game modes including a fully fledged career mode and even the enjoyable skyscraper mode where one had to survive on top of a skyscraper without plummeting to a demise. There was also more than just one car as found in the previous titles, and this time they bared more resemblance to real life counterparts. Overall, the action felt much more slow and less chaotic than Destruction Derby 2, but the resulting gameplay was far more refined. Add the fact it boasts really rather tasty graphics for a PS1 game, and you have the best the series has seen so far, with the following PS2 Destruction Derby Arenas failing to match that of Raw.

Some of the cars also bare resemblance to the more recent premiere destruction racing game, Flatout.
