London Racer: Police Madness (2005)Star Wars Fanatic EN (487)Successor to the previous Destruction Madness in the London Racer series, that fortunately fairs rather better. So has Davilex done the unthinkable and produced a worthy title at long last? Well, almost. Police Madness is basically Chase HQ without the original thrill and flair, which sees you chasing down law breakers by scanning their cars before giving chase. The twist is that you can only give chase by activating a "pursuit mode" which initiates a nitro, along with traditional sirens, which enables you to catch the fleeing car. Unlike Destruction Madness, the cars are also reasonably controllable, but the absence of a decent density of traffic hampers the experience on the morbidly quiet motorways. It is decidedly average, although for a budget title it isn't as bad as it could be. That said, this doesn't exactly feel like a London Racer - there is no racing and the locations once again deviate from London itself. Will they ever get it right? 2007-07-31 22:17

London Racer: Destruction Madness (2005)Star Wars Fanatic EN (487)London Racer returns after the original, which sees Davilex delivering the goods with its traditional tripe. Although the graphics have been updated, the racing is as lifeless as ever with a complete absence of traffic on all courses (that actually deviate from London as it also contains the likes of Paris and Berlin for example) and some truly shocking car handling, with its erratic lack of control. What really undermines the title however is that it is labeled as "destruction madness", since it is completely devoid of any destruction whatsoever. Yes, there are now Destruction Derby style arena battles set in London, but when the crash physics are non existent and the damage is limited to bonnet panels falling off, it is woefully hard to justify such an exciting title. 2007-07-31 00:08
