Need For Speed: Carbon (2006)Explorer4X4I got the game today. And the graphics are the best I have ever seen! It is so, so awsome. The storyline is cheesy, like most street racing games. Its all at night. But man, the graphics and loads of features make up for all the problems. You get three cars, a Chevrolet Camaro SS, a Mazda RX-8 and a Alfa Romeo Brera (?). I can't choose! I think I am going for the Camaro though. 2006-11-28 22:57

qwerty_86 wrote I stopped playing Need For Speed after High Stakes came out. The ability to turn on and off parking lights, low beams, high beams, and turn signals (left, right, and hazards separately). On top of that, there was a Caprice! That was the best NFS IMO. Great, now I gotta go dig out the ol' Playstation and play it again because I'm excited.

I can relate to that, Need For Speed High Stakes (or Road Challenge as it is known here) is also possibly my favourite in the series. I particularly liked all of the International police forces available :D

TOCA 2 Touring Cars (1998)
TOCA 2: Touring Car Challenge
Star Wars Fanatic EN (494)The second installment to the ongoing Toca series was a worthy successor to the well received original. Even if it wasn't a complete revolution, it did enhance its predecessor with significantly revamped graphics featuring new touches such as transparent windows, and my personal favourite viewable smashed windscreen seen in the dashboard view. it also added an assortment of new cars, in addition to the previous games BTCC series cars, such as Ford Fiestas and even Formula Fords, but this was not to be fully accomplished until World Touring Cars and of course the current Toca Race Driver series, which features multiple racing franchises.

Please also note that I did not use replays this time (the original Toca didn't have replays), since I felt that the views on offer were not particularly good, and the controls presented at the bottom were rather obtrusive to the car.

Need For Speed: Carbon (2006)fck PL (7)
Star Wars Fanatic wrote The Porsche edition was somewhat different, and actually contained more realistic physics and was of course endorsed by Porsche, so it is hard to really regard it as a Need For Speed game, almost.

But a very, very big part of NFS maniacs, who played NFS for years think the NFS:Porsche Unleashed was the best part of whole serie. I was an admin on official Polish NFS Center from 2003 and I met a lot of fans' opinions. Over 55% of 18-30 yrs old players took a NFS:P2000 as a the best NFS part. And about 10% took NFS:U,U2 or MW. After MW premiere 51% players wanted to back NFS Serie into 'old-style'.

TOCA Touring Car Championship (1997)Star Wars Fanatic EN (494)Yes, that was the last ever installment to carry the BTCC. 2006-11-23 20:48
TOCA Touring Car Championship (1997)antp BE (26)First Race Driver (the one for which I added pictures on IGCD) has cars from BTCC, no?

Weasel1984 >> I also really liked TOCA2 :) But I also like that first Race Driver. Graphics are really good I think, handling is still well made, and damages are nicely made. For that last point I was really disappointed by Race Driver 3 (though that I only tested the demo version).

Need For Speed: Carbon (2006)Star Wars Fanatic EN (494)I actually didn't mind Hot Pursuit 2, the emphasis was on the police and the licensed cars on offer were fantastic. The physics might have been unrealistic (wasn't too keen on the bombs that the police helicopter would drop), but this is how the Need For Speed series always has been, for the most part. The Porsche edition was somewhat different, and actually contained more realistic physics and was of course endorsed by Porsche, so it is hard to really regard it as a Need For Speed game, almost. Like many games now, it has sadly fallen victim to being EAified as I call it, where EA have made it a tiresome, commercial affair.

Need For Speed: Carbon (2006)fck PL (7)I'm surely agrred with you, Star Wars Fanatic. I think NFS serie ended on the NFS:HP2 with licenses but no damage and awful physics. U, U2, MW and Carbon are just arcade, $$ earning machines created for teenagers. I hope I see someday the Need For Speed like NFS Porsche Unleashed on shops..

TOCA Touring Car Championship (1997)Star Wars Fanatic EN (494)They are indeed pure classics Weasel, and the ToCA series is one of my favourites, in terms of racing.
