It is actually a full 10 minute video available for download somewhere, but was there actually a name for the city it was all set in? I just remember the 3 main districts. 2006-10-28 00:28

and lets not forget the live action movie made for GTA2 :D

That had nothing to do with the game! It was a live action car chase set in present day New York, the game was set about 20 years into the future in some dystopian metropolis.

Grand Theft Auto (1997)G-MANN UK (51)Yeah, the graphics in GTA2 are definetely an improvement on those in GTA1 and they are less 2-dimensional, but look less impressive once you've experienced the 3-D world of GTA3 and Vice City. I first played GTA2 when one of my friends at school had it in 1999, but I didn't have it for myself until years later. The first GTA hardly had cutting-edge graphics even for 1997 but its simplistic top-down, Micro-Machines-esque style made it all the more playable. GTA London had the worst graphics, they were even inferior to GTA1, although it tried to dipict a grimy 60s London it was far less appealing visually, the game had a cheaper, slightly-rushed feel to it, but then techically it was just a mission pack/add-on rather than a complete sequel, GTA2 was the official sequel. 2006-10-27 20:53

G-MANN wrote To anyone who has a PC (well you wouldn't be here if you didn't have access to a computer) and has never played this classic game, you don't even have to buy it now, you can download it for free from Rockstar Games' own website: www.rockstargames.com/classics/

You can also download the main sequel GTA2 and some game called Wild Metal. I'm not sure how long this has been available, but to be honest by now if you are any real fan of the series and are suitably old enough to be playing them, you would have finished this game years ago, and you could pick it up now for next to nothing anyway, I bought GTA2 for just £2 from a second-hand game shop several years back. But by then I'd already completed GTA3 and Vice City so it felt pretty dated (although it looked quite good back in 1999) and the control dynamics didn't agree with me, I hated the way the cars handled (I much preferred it like it was in the first game even if it may have been less realistic) and the way they took so long to stop and go into reverse so I only played it a few times then couldn't be bothered with it (good thing I only paid 2 quid for it).

That has definitely been available for quite a long while now. I had this game back in 1998, and have so far successfully managed to acquire just about every GTA on release date, with Vice City Stories being my next target. Personally, I felt that GTA2 was quite an improvement particularly in terms of graphics, with the murky textures now replaced and the sometimes poor framerate dramatically improved. It also starred Claude, the main character who would soon appear in GTA3, and lets not forget the live action movie made for GTA2 :D

antp wrote aren't some other vehicles hidden or related to missions done?

Well there were some rumours about hidden vehicles such as a jet fighter hidden off the game map but I've never seen these. On one site I saw a model for a SWAT Team Van listed as part of the vehicles gallery for one of the cities but I've never seen this. On the internet there are many vehicle patches available for download for just about every game in the series with all sorts of designs created by fans, but these are all unofficial by their nature.

Ford F-350
Grand Theft Auto (1997)
G-MANN UK (51)That's right. In the game's storyline you start your criminal career in Liberty City (which resembles New York even closer in this game) and after completing the second level "Heist Almighty", mob boss Bubby sends you to San Andreas (vaguely resembling San Francisco) because you've brought too much heat on yourself from your sucess in crime. Then in the cartoon cut-scene at end of Level 4 "Tequila Slammer", homosexual hispanic gang leader El Burro (who reappears in GTA3, even if it's in voice only), wearing nothing but a waistcoat, tells you he's now going to 'personally' reward you for your sucess (and you'll find out why he's known as "The Donkey"). In the next level "Bent Cop Blues", you are now in Vice City (Miami) under the thumb of highly corrupt narcotics officer Deever. I always imagined that your character flees San Andreas to avoid being sodomised by El Burro. Sorry if that sounds homophobic, but when you get to actually see him in the cut-scene, you'd understand why anyone would want avoid getting intimate with this guy. Although the funny thing is you can actually choose a female profile for your character so that would spoil the subplot of El Burro lusting after you (and calling you "pretty boy"). In fact, despite that when you start the game, out of 8 character profile mugshots to choose from 4 of them are women, the in-game dialogue often assumes you are male, to be honest this is more of a boy's game, though there's no reason why girls can't enjoy it.
