Yeah, that's a Corvette, no doubt. Actually, the name hints Corvette to me. Monterey Shark = Mako Shark. Not neccesarily the same model, but this here was the ancestor to the modern Corvettes.

If you really want to go that way, why isn't it a Corvette? After all, the 1968-1982 generation of Corvettes was also commonly referred to as the Shark, and it's shape (particularly the rear) looks nothing like a Dino.
