Smith is the Ford brand in the game and perhaps the other car brands that belonged to the Ford group at that time are also named under the Smith brand.
Ford created Mercury in 1939 to sell cars at a higher price and also bought Lincoln in 1922, to compete with brands like Cadillac and Packard for the luxury segment of the automotive market, so perhaps and probably should be a Lincoln, which were from brands that used famous gangsters like Al Capone.

Ok but single windshield? I dunno if the Pacard ever came with a V12, less rounded front fenders?

Kinda image comparison thing. I like doing this, easiest to see them all in a line and people can decide for themselves.
