Mieguy 2013-07-26 12:02	yeah ignore my comment... developers usually shit on correct model years!! if this game was made in 1992 you can say "oh god, this is impossible. no 1993 car in 1992". but hell, this game is from 2004 set in 1992 so a developer in 2004 knows a 1993 car and can place it in 1992 set game because he likes it!
Laqueesha 2013-07-25 16:53	For private vehicles, that makes sense. However, for fleet cars, like taxis and police vehicles, they're usually older, as they are purchased less often.

There is an 87' Caprice used as a police car in Las Venturas. Anyways, about the other thing, why shouldn't a brand new car apear in traffic often? I mean, a few months ago when the new Renault Clio was released, there were quite a few of them on the roads in my country. SizSkiizd 2011-05-14 15:52	Doesn't matter, it's a game. The designers can do whatever they desire. Besides, it could easily be a 1993, the game is set in late 1992, and 1993 model year Caprices were already available then.

Schaefft 2009-06-14 17:33	The black window trim makes it to a 1991 to me. The 1991 and 1992 both had closed rear wheel wells, the only difference were the black/bodypainted pillars. Not sure about 1993, I know the open wheels make it look like one but the game is set in 1992 and changing the wheel wells was one way to change the model from a real 1991 caprice to a knockoff. Its always hard to decide the year if there are so many differences in the game model compared to the real cars. The same with the Premier, the LSPD and the SFPD cop car. And maybe something that could be interesting: theres still a model of the copcar with closed rear wheel wells in the cut scene game files. You cant find it ingame anymore but rockstar planned to use a more 1991 caprice like model before editing it to the current one.
