This isn't "being lazy", it's adding surprising depth of believability to something fictional. Real automakers do this almost all the time.

I'm honestly very impressed by these models, they were clearly made by someone who actually studies auto design instead of "I'm not allowed to copy a real car so I made a box with wheels because I looked at a photo of a car once".

Looking back at my original comment, I have changed my mind. I do agree with both of you. I appreciate seeing this in videogames. And proper auto design is actually something I enjoy to see in videogames. Lots of cars in this game I do look at and think are better than GTA games, especially nowadays. I adore real passenger cars you see on the roads, with character, this game has plenty of it.

Or maybe the intend was to create more variety in the vehicle lineup by adding badge-engineered/facelifted variations of certain models that would otherwise not be in the game? :)

Case of Ubisoft being lazy: this shares similar body shape and pillars with this, just with different front and rear design.

Believe me it has been difficult for me to see if the car has already been photographed or not

I don't know why this makes me think of I-Mark.

But I do agree on Mitsubishi Lancer.

Nah, it's not a Sentra. Hardly looks like it, and if they wanted to make a Sentra sedan, they could have just took Watch Dogs' Sumitzu Auto 1.6 and made a 4 door out of it.

This one's much closer to a 3rd gen Mitsubishi Lancer, and the fact that it's a Nakahawa (the Ubisoft version of Mitsubishi) makes more sense to be a Lancer.

Nakahawa badging, which points towards Mitsubishi (like like the Kigan AWD in Watch Dogs and Watch Dogs 2, which is a Mitsubishi Outlander)...third generation Lancer, perhaps?
