Star Wars Fanatic 2006-09-17 21:49 | The point at which Need For Speed spiraled downhill. -- Last edit: 2006-09-17 21:51:10 |
dodge1970 2008-09-30 03:55 | Indeed although I did enjoy driving a stock Dodge Neon (i'm wierd I know) but hated the street racing thing. if they had continued the hot pursuit vibe through this it could have been 10x better. |
saint51 2009-01-25 07:01 | Not really, even though i'm a classic NFS fan i have 2 say that underground was the better if-not the best NFS games of one of NFS franchises. In my opinion i say NFS went downhill after Underground 2 or Most Wanted. |
Synobis 2009-03-19 21:03 | Carbon Was Still Good, It Was Pro Street (Which I Do Find A Good Game) That Killed NFS Because Rules And On Track Racing Isn't What Anyone Wanted, We All Love Wieving Through Traffic With Police On Our Tails. They Took That Away In NFSPS And Thats When It Spiraled Downhill |
J-2 2009-03-19 23:54 | Underground was good, because it was a different point of view of the NFS saga, Underground 2...well, i can understand it, Underground was an sucess and they made a second title. Most Wanted started to be a litte boring (but it´s the best NFS-Tuning game in my opinion), Carbon was too much, Pro Street was an experiment, and with Undercover, they finally ruined the whole thing. |
Star Wars Fanatic 2009-03-20 00:22 | I still long for the glory days of Hot Pursuit, which isn't going to happen if they are going into the track racing simulation genre. |
Skid 2009-07-03 17:31 | Luckily subsequent NFS games have reaquired actual sports cars, rather than the (mainly) commuters seen here, but the "riceboy" element has remained...every subsequent game has had that moment where it dawns on you that you're putting vinyl graphics, 20" wheels, and a bodykit on an Aston Martin. |
takumi 2009-10-24 00:57 | I like NFS since Underground and i stoped like nfs since Undercover lol |
Mach1Mustang 2010-01-24 03:42 | This game was alright. Not as good as the sequel, although that doesn't mean Underground 2 was great. It was more about illegal races with imports. I prefer a GTO over a Scion any day. |
takumi 2010-03-29 17:09 | No, the first NFS with free roam mod is NFSU 2 |
MX-5Roadster 2010-09-04 19:25 | First Good NFS Game - If you don't like go play pile of crap old shit NFS1 in your crappy arcade NFS HP and it's derivants suck. Underground is great, U2 is excelent, MW is a bit boring, Carbon is great, Pro Street is too boring, Undercover is good and Shift is excelent and i love it. Bye -- Last edit: 2010-09-04 19:25:14 |
J-2 2010-09-04 19:41 | I hope you feel better after claiming that the best NFS games ever made are rubbish and the tuning saga is the best...honestly, i can´t take you seriously. But you´re alone. At least, you could have some respect for everybody else´s taste. All that hatred isn´t welcome here. -- Last edit: 2010-09-04 20:05:57 |
MX-5Roadster 2010-09-04 20:34 | Old games are a bit boring, i edited my comment but still think it's too offensive. NFS HP2 is not that bad, at least is fun, but i like freedom! In NFSU and U2 you don't have the cop trying to catch you, it's cool but then it gets boring. In Carbon the cops allways seem to be the same and same again. You need to be escaping... But in Undercover you can be the cop. I respect everybody's taste, but i need to have my own tastes. Im not alone, look at Takumi, he says started like NFS since Underground. My Undercover doesn't work anymore, i got pissed off because the roads disappear and you need to stop and wait for the road to load or the game breaks. For lovers of supercars i recommend NFS HP. And now study time so wait for my replies. Oh, and no replies like "Don't read her's comments" becaus if people doesn't interest my comments then they don't read them. |
strike9 2010-10-09 22:35 | it went downhill when the ps3 came out lol |
sajmon14 2011-04-17 00:39 | wasn't this also on arcade? I remember I played it somewhere |
RacingFreak (102) 2011-04-17 08:02 | Yup, it was ported into Arcade, but EA didn`t made it as separate game. |
2011-12-26 17:05 | I have GBA version, is bad PS2 version, it's OK |
k9underdogg 2012-07-09 15:47 | People shouldn't complain about NFS Underground not being "a real need for speed game". Just look at the box art, "need for speed" is in tiny letters and UNDERGROUND is the real deal. It's supposed to be like they are taking a break from the old exotic cars and landscapes thing to make a game about tuner culture and city races. Then they tried to tie both worlds up with MW and Carbon (and I respect this one because the crew races were a cool new idea and the tuning was really extensive but not mandatory). But after that, EA just didn't have a clue on what to do with the series so they just tried to start making a new NFS each year, with short single player campaigns and no replay value. This resulted in them cutting off features like quick race, cockpit view and replays, probably in order to release the game faster and make people finish it quickly and want to buy the next one. They either don't know you can't make a legendary game in just one year, or they just don't want to and don't care... -- Last edit: 2012-07-09 15:48:00 |
RVR72GV 2012-07-10 01:50 | Money, you know. Today's developers won't care whether they made good game or not as long as they get their $$$s they deserve. Same goes to Japanese game developers. |
Maltravers 2012-12-29 02:42 | This game is brilliant. I completed every race (hardest one is a "Straight Up" or #63) with a Peugeot 206 on hard level. The other races are piece of cake. Just focus on the game, drive and change gears carefully, don't hurry, and you will win. |
ZoomZoom 2015-08-09 23:33 | It has damageable vehicles. When you crash in drag racing, the cutscene shows shattered glass. |
Burn Rubber 2015-08-30 17:43 | You could have AT LEAST left these intro cars. They are models not used in the game. I think your all giving a lot too much hate on intro cars. |
Rinspeed 2015-08-30 17:49 | Seriously your capture from a video are really blurry and we see nothing, just a lot of pixels. |
Burn Rubber 2015-08-30 18:02 | That's what they were. They were in motion, So they couldn't be perfect. And again, They weren't THAT BAD! |
Burn Rubber 2015-10-30 22:15 | Added Eddie's Skyline from quick race. I don't know if it will get accepted because I gave NFS Wiki a taste of their own medicine and stole one of their pictures. It's the thought that counts. ![]() |
JDMracerocket96 2016-02-20 21:23 | if we have eddies cars what about the other bonus cars for rob zombie the hello kitty car and the others |
Burn Rubber 2016-02-20 21:24 | Cause I just ripped a pic from Wikipedia so they could get a taste of their own medicine and didnt bother to do the others. ![]() |
JDMracerocket96 2016-02-20 21:26 | you want me to do them |
Burn Rubber 2016-02-20 21:33 | I'll do them. Time to stop being lazy and take more Wikipedia pictures! ![]() |
JDMracerocket96 2016-02-21 15:10 | theres still some more cars left |
Burn Rubber 2016-05-06 05:27 | Okay, Should we classify every single track as a different one under the Tracks section? There's about 40-ish different ones. And technically Olympic City is only the setting of normal races. ![]() |
sajmon14 2016-05-06 13:24 | no, here its listed properly as one city. We should just list the main tracks(locations), not every single race |
Razor440 2016-05-31 20:28 | We need to finish this page... |
Burn Rubber 2016-05-31 21:43 | I don't own the game on PC or have an Emulator for GameCube, So I can't. |
Speedevil 2016-05-31 21:45 | What is missing? |
Burn Rubber 2016-05-31 22:14 | Special cars unlocked from Style Points |
Razor440 2016-05-31 23:50 | There's a Petey Pablo Eclipse and the Lostprophets car... There are other cars that need their images replaced. I think I can provide some new ones soon. |
Razor440 2016-06-02 02:48 | Grr...for some reason this game refuses to work on 7. Well...when the day comes, I will use my powerhouse PC to emulate the PS2 version on my PC so I can get some good screenshots. |
sajmon14 2016-06-02 15:51 | It's hard to emulate a PS2 game properly so it's better to get someone who has the PC version and he will get the better pics. |
Razor440 2016-06-02 16:05 | I just don't have a lot of RAM, so I can try but it will be a bit slow. |
Burn Rubber 2016-06-08 06:50 | Well I've got the game running with a GameCube emulator. ![]() ![]() Oh god the game runs at about 15-20 FPS during races. X| -- Last edit: 2016-06-08 07:06:24 |
Razor440 2016-06-09 14:02 | Can you find a savegame? Nice screenshots, by the way. |
Burn Rubber 2016-06-09 17:34 | Since I am running the game on a Emulator, I don't know how a save game would work. Seeing how thee are no real "files" ![]() |
carcrazedalex586 (5) 2016-12-29 15:32 | Are the CGI background vehicles worth listing? The car honking when the Eclipse turned into a widebody car was a BMW E36 sedan. |
Burn Rubber 2016-12-29 15:42 | Don't bother. I added them a long time ago and they were deleted almost immedately. |
carcrazedalex586 (5) 2016-12-29 15:49 | What were they listed as? Was the BMW E36 I mentioned there? |
Burn Rubber 2016-12-29 16:30 | Everything that I could get a screenshot of was listed. I doubt it was listed as a BMW, but still deleted nonetheless. |
Burn Rubber 2017-01-28 07:31 | Rear shots are FINALLY on all stock cars in the game. Rear shots for traffic are coming in a few. I also added the Mystikal Celica, Petey Pablo Eclipse, and Lostprophets R34. The other bonus cars I normally wouldn't play through the game just to get, But I'm going to LP this on my YouTube, so they'll be added... eventually knowing how I work. I also want an opinion on if the RX-7 and Impreza shots should be replaced. They use aftermarket wheels. |
solarriors 2017-02-16 02:24 | The Nissan Skyline "lost prophets" is mispelled ![]() Also in these "street-racing" iteration, I remember changing speeds was mandatory and having traffic was a real challenge one had to take account of. Not the today's useless "figurant" traffic -- Last edit: 2017-02-16 02:25:19 |
Burn Rubber 2017-02-16 13:08 | None of the Band cars have surenames. The are named as normal cars outside their unlock screen. Edited them all. |
EminemRUS 2017-02-16 13:39 | Too hard game. |
CarCrazedAlex586 (5) 2017-03-09 10:17 | I swear an instrumental of "Smashing the Gas" by Mystikal played on Pimp My Ride. |
CarCrazedAlex586 (5) 2017-03-21 22:13 | How could you reject this BMW E36 seen only in the intro?: i.imgur.com/Ar7JkPn.png Well, I guess it's staying in the comments like IMCDB where generic cartoon cars are posted in the comments. |
