Captures made on PC.
Cars listed as "unlockable" are those that you can own at the end of the "Evolution" mode, though they are available directly in multiplayer (network game). They can also be seen as factory car using a "trainer".
Others are available as factory cars in the single player free race mode or as first car of "Evolution" mode.

Still more cars to add...

My little brother has this game, used to be really fun. Up untill games with better graphics (Project Gotham Racing 2, Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition and the likes) made it seem not as good.

In addition, i have to say, that this is in my opinion the best NFS ever made and one of the best car-related games in the history, almost 10 years have passed, and i already haven´t seen a game like this.

PS1 version was worst

there was a special version of this game based with just 3 cars, a cayman, a cayenne, and i think a carrera gt

J-2 ES (1047)

2010-10-10 00:49

NFS Top Speed had a Cayenne, a 911 Turbo and a 959:

Maybe it´s the game you´re refering to.

Indeed! I guess you could say that this game ignited my love for Porsche's! :)

Oh, and the 959 and 928 were official addons made by EA, so they should be listed as downloadable.

J-2 ES (1047)

2010-10-28 23:29

True, i didn´t list that cars, so i didn´t noticed. But the GT2 and the GT3 were downloadable too.

This also remind me, this was the first game i had with DLC...10 years ago! (But they were free...)

J-2 wrote Antti-san, where did you find the cars you just added?

The inferior Playstation port (which I have) has a slew of cars which, for some reason, are not included in the PC version. Sorry I couldn't get any better pictures, for some reason the game crashes on my emulator when I try to start a race. :O

I think I've got most of the cars exclusive to the PS version uploaded now.

J-2 ES (1047)

2011-01-28 12:17

That was very stupid by their part...there were very nice cars, i mean, the first ever Porsche, the 917 race car, the 924, the 968...what a shame!

Antti-san FI (38)

2011-01-28 12:30

Indeed! Also, like I said earlier, there might still be some exclusive cars missing. But I'll go through the game again later and see if there's something missing. :o And as always, feel free to correct any errors I may have made.

Pablo1989 PL (12)

928 are DLC for PC

Looking into Wikipedia DLCs are

Porsche 928 GTS

Porsche 959

Porsche 911 GT2

Porsche 911 GT3

J-2 ES (1047)

2011-01-28 14:53

The 928 for PC is from 1992, the rest are only found on PSX.

Is it possible to split the PC and PSX version into two pages? Unlike the previous NFS games, in which the PC version was the same as the PSX version with some minor improvements, the PC and PSX versions of Porsche Unleashed are actually two different games published under the same title.

I think the PC game was developed by Electronic Arts (the publisher), but I want to say the PSX game was done by the people who did the Test Drive games... i'm not sure on that though.

this was a good game for its time, strange since it only has porsches but it was well executed, unlike some of the lateset additions to the series
also this was one of the first nfs games i ever played, alongside high stakes and HP, i bought them all in a three pack this was my favourite of the set

Graphics don't matter in games-gameplay does.

Yeah its not really playable on ePSXe, so I used other emulator (with same ePSXe plugins). Works even better :)

Just in case, if you try the PSX PAL on a emulator it will likely end-up in a 12 seconds loop every time starting over and over again a race. I don't what the differences are, the cars and tracks proposed at the beginning are just not the same in quick races.
And is it applicable to games that the PAL games run on 50Hz but with a 625p resolution against 60Hz and 576p for NTSC ?

Aginnon CZ (2)

2016-09-02 15:50

So, use the PSX NTSC-U instead.
