What was the point of renaming them? They look so much like their real-life counterparts I actually thought they were licensed.

I think the point is that in case a company like Porsche decided to sue them for using a car that looks just like a Porsche 911, they can say "no way, this is a Degger CR699, not a Porsche". I think if they didn't rename them it would look like they "are supossed to be the real cars". But idk, copyright stuff is silly and weird :P
