JFK wrote Why are 99% of japanese games for Playstation and other consoles and not for PC? Perhaps kegare can answer me my question.

I don't know exactly why but it reminds me of a great times when PlayStation already had interesting exclusives. I still got a PSone in great condition to play those classic games and I'm thinking about PS2. But it's hard to find a PS2 in mint condition and reasonable price at the same time.

carcrasher88 US (22)

Probably a combination of the fact that Sony is a Japanese company, and the fact that Nintendo consoles aren't the most popular platforms to develop games like racing games for.

Especially when you consider that even though Japanese companies like Sony, Toshiba, and Panasonic manufacture PCs, the operating systems (whether Windows, iOS, and smaller ones like Linux) are mainly American, Japanese developers tend to prefer developing for platforms that originate from their home country, especially when consoles like Xbox 360 and Xbox One aren't very popular in Japan.

Western companies seem to have a varied reputation in Japan. For example, though many Western automobile manufacturers sell cars in Japan, they're usually not big sellers compared to domestic rivals.

Some do end up being successful, like in the fast food industry, where McDonald's and KFC are highly popular in urban areas, along side domestic competitors like MOS Burger and Yoshinoya, and in the convenience store industry, where American chain 7-Eleven is the most popular company, and has a vastly larger network of stores compared to domestic rivals.

Even some American stores have hooked up with Japanese ones, for example Colorado based Sports Authority operates stores in Japan in a joint venture with ∆ON Co., Ltd., and Japanese company Seiyu Group is 100% owned by Walmart, essentially making it the Japanese equivalent of UK-based ASDA.

So, when you really think about it, the Japanese prefer to stick with domestic over foreign, but it's not a completely common theme, though it is highly evident in the video game industry there.

Added a rival dedicated custom car.
These cars are body kit and coloring of dedicated, it has been decorated with customizations, such as turbo mounted.
(Example: "RIVAL CAR 322" looks like a Genki S2000, however, the engine turbo is mounted, drive system also has become a 4WD.)

If these cars are winning the rival, it will be available at a certain probability.

Unfortunately, all 45 of these new Rival Car entries will have to be edited at some point. As stated on the submission form, the "Surname" field is for unlicensed vehicles only.

GroupB US (616)

There's no need to add the hundreds of unplayable rival cars, but the ones that you can actually drive by becoming friends with a rival are OK.

Burn Rubber US (348)

2016-07-18 20:12

I feel like all the rival's vehicles should be listed. There are referred to as separate, and even have unique names.

As for the sponsor test cars, why were those deleted? :??: those are versions only drivable in one mission. Kinda like the Pizza Car from Need for Speed MW 2005. I'm re-adding those as well.

Besides, I can't confirm which ones are playable or not. It's been a long time since I played the game. I think Terror Sign (one you deleted) was actually playable. But I left it unplayable unti I could confirm it.

Unplayable Rival Vehicles--We don't list them if the same base car is playable elsewhere in the game. If there is 1 playable Viper and 6 unplayable rival Vipers, we don't need all 7. It clutters the page with what are essentially paint jobs.

Sponsor Test Vehicles--These are a gray area as they are temporary, and you don't actually own them or get to use them after mission completion. Anyone else have any input on adding temporary vehicles?

Playable Rival Vehicles--Not a problem as long as you confirm their status before adding.

Burn Rubber US (348)

1- I still think since the game classes them as separate cars they should be added. :/
2- We added the pizza car, minivan, and truck from MW 2005. Same case here.
3- I still can't remember all the cars you can unlock. I feel like you could drive Terror Sign, but I can't confirm it.

I'll add all the ones I can confirm and then we will see about the unplayables.

It really depends on the game, it's hard to tell sometimes if a variant of the vehicle should be listed or not. Here I agree with Gr. B

I am respecting their opinion, But my logical reasoning was that the game DOES class them as seperate cars with special names. (River Ruler, Terror Sign, etc)

It's not a huge deal, But I think all rival cars should be listed. Same goes for other TXR games. Like TXR0, Bloody Mary has a special Dodge Viper unique to the normal Viper. On this game, Ground Zero has a unique Mitsubishi Evo that the player cannot re-create.

It really is. The fact there are so many cars makes conquest mods really interesting. Rivals are always driving something different than the last, you have to strategize what car is best for you, and it just makes it fun.

In early stages of the game, you can get lucky at the used car dealer and buy cars not yet available in the other dealers. Or even find cars that aren't available anywhere else. Like a Onevia.
