I can tell, from what I've heard and seen, that this game will be a disappointment.

I'm not too sure, any free roam game that doesn't bear the title "Grand Theft Auto" tends to be "reviewed" mostly based on its negative aspects more than anything else - i.e. what makes the game stand out from everything else. I hate how every free roam game seems to HAVE to stand up against GTA, when the reality is, it doesn't - nobody ever seems to complain that most first person shooters follow the exact same "template", kinda like how pretty much ALL of the "professional" reviewers failed to pointed out the negative aspects of GTA IV's "gameplay".

Sorry for the mini-rant (that rant wasn't aimed at you SizSkiizd btw). Nevertheless, I'm sure this game will offer, at least, an acceptable experience.

I still can't wait for Mafia II though :D.

VanMan629 wrote It's funny I was looking around the GAME shop yesterday and I came across this game, it seemed good, it looked good, but my question is, when it comes out... Will it be any good?

Release date for

10 April 2009 (UK and Europe)

It is just an average game.

I'm sorry if I offended anyone, but I have to be critical when EA have the nerve to make a sequel to one of the uhm... most average sandbox-style games ever released. What I'm looking for when I review, is new features in the game. The good thing about this game is that they put some effort in adding more vehicles. But the graphics are impressive for 2005, not 2009, so what I think about this game in all: not much.

However, I hope for Gods sake that everyone who are fans of the previous and the triology will like this game. I'm not saying I hate the Godfather, as a matter of fact, I like the movies a lot. Making a game out of it, however, will automatically result in a minimal success.

I PRESUME and PREDICT that, there will be playable aircraft in this game like in the GTA series :D. Because I saw a flying aircraft in a 3rd person view in the trailer.

Well I was very dissapointted by this game. I think Mafia II will kick EA out of the water, If not Rockstar.

Anyway, The one car here: www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=16440
Doesn't exist in game, the front end is completly different. And we are missing the Pickup truck and the two older cars (which are ALWAYS dirty)

2 Of The Cars Are Just Uglier Versions Of Cars From Burnout Paradise, How Sad? And One Of Them Is A '72 Charger. Yet This Game Is Based In What Year?... :/

the guns are set in the late forties early fifties but the cars are set in the sixties

I like this game. But I think the storyline and title is misleading. When I played the game, I feel like I wasn’t playing a game based on the actual 1974 film. Only same parts made me feel like it was based on The Godfather: Part II. For the most part, it’s just like the first game. Just taking out rival families. Anyway, I think it’s a good game. Obviously different vehicles and more than the number of vehicles in the first game, slightly better graphics and a lot more of what you can do. It would be strange if EA made a game based off of The Godfather: Part III.

BTW, I can’t wait for Mafia II to come out.

Not to be offensive, this game is simply ridiculous. Those vehicles has extremely poor handling and physics. Plus, those shooting and combat is not realistic at all. Mafia II or GTA IV is miles better than this.

@CA_NES, what do you think of this game?

@Takumi Thank you!

Here is my review of the game (bearing in mind that I have not played The Godfather 1 or seen any of the Godfather movies [yes, I live a sad life lol]) I liked this this game! I would best describe it as a 3rd person sandbox game with some casual strategy game elements thrown in. One of the criticizims of The Godfather 1 is that there were only a few cars, EA actually responded to that by making an abundance of vehicles for this game (yes, some are just reused trucks, but that still takes work, and nearly all of the vehicles come in many different colors). And I actually quite like the handling in this game, but my tastes are not typical (I prefer the handling in GTA III to GTA IV) You do not get to fly planes or pilot boats in the game sadly, and there is not much to do after you beat the game, other than multiplayer. Overall it is a decent game though.

this is what happens when a car flips in GF II, the car doesn't blow up, but you and your crew stand on top of it for some reason lol

Some of the cars in this game have a make and model written on them or on a billboard, some have only a model, some have nothing. So should I list the names of cars that are named?

Yes, add them if possible

I like the car designs, but if it was going to follow Part II it should have been set in 1958/'59. The cars in this game are from 1969/'70! The buildings look pretty modern, too...
