If I remember correctly, this game became a port of some sort to the Dreamcast.

Apparently the DC version is known as Speed Devils. Can anyone confirm if it is just a port or if there are any differences so I can know whether or not to add it as an alternative title?

It is known as Speed Devils. That's why it looked familiar, because I owned it when it came out. I loved that game. It had about twice the cars and double the tracks.

In Michael Moore's documentary, Bowling For Columbine, there's a section where individuals are discussing the cause of the shooting and a quick scene pops up of a woman "blaming" "violent video games". On the monitor behind her is non other than Speed Busters!

I remember this game, it was pretty funny. Some sort of Mario Kart without items. I think there were traffic cars on the secret New York track.

I just got this game, and it's very nice. Love the music and cars are looking pretty too.
BTW- there are three cars missing here: 75 Ford LTD named 'Thunder', some late 90's car named 'Cortex'(might be some Ferrari variant), and early 2000's Jeep model named 'Montana'.

OH! Those car skins can be REALLY hilarious, like Atlantis' Shark skin, Thunder's Cow skin or Orion's BEE skin. They really fit those car's styles/designs.

Did you manage to run it on a modern PC?

I never tried to run it because I saw that some abandonware website said that it was unplayable on modern CPUs...
Guess I'll have to try it myself.

I think the game was simply called Speed Busters in Europe, and Speed Devils on Dreamcast.

Good point! They could have used a concept for a future Jeep variant. Game makers do that pretty often.
ALSO- I've made a little research recently, and it appears that Montana may not be a Jeep, but more of a 98 Isuzu Amigo S Sport.

Oh, almost forgot: there is an unplayable 83 Lincoln Town Car Stretch Limo, exclusive for Dreamcast version.

Are those three other cars available in the PC version?
As for unplayable vehicles, there are a lot of them that are missing here. I'll try to take screenshots but the game does have some issues on modern PCs, mostly disappearing objects, even the AI cars.

Yes, they are. 'Thunder' and 'Cortex' are available from the start, but 'Montana' has to be unlocked- which is pretty easy.
As for the issues... Strange... :??: Nothing like that happens in my game.

Add Dreamcast to the console list.
