I've played this on the gamepass, and it has no relation to the previous crackdown games. Crackdown 1 is one of my favourite games of all time, but 3 is just crap. The gunplay and variety of weapons is fun, but it plays more like overwatch than crackdown. It essentially has a linear mission structure and many map areas and objectives you can't tackle until you're a certain skill level. The map is terrible too, making no geographical sense. It's hard to navigate, and it's often impossible to drive to a location. Much of the map is a series of towers, suspended above the ground. If you fall you have to get back up again and it offers boring gameplay, simply fighting in a variety of combat arenas. The game is most fun when you're at street level fighting off waves of enemies. Including destructible environments liked originally promised would have made the game much better, but it is reserved for multiplayer only.

Yeah, I did find it disappointing. It's essentially a repeat of the 2007 original and somehow made it even more bland.

Well, not just the graphics - the entire game is disappointing from start to finish. What could've made it better, as stryder237 mentioned, is the destructible environments. But no, it had to be obnoxiously shoved into the Wrecking Zone, and naturally, this left many fans very frustrated. And the fact that it's not as interesting as the original Crackdown.

How hard is it to do something like that on an open world game? If I were a game developer, I'd do just that. Make a massive metropolis the size of Hong Kong, throw in Unreal Engine 4, destructibility, cars that are NOT futuristic cyber-ripoffs, and three different factions from around the world, and make it last at least 25-30 hours tops. This would be a spiritual successor to Crackdown - only far better, and more enjoyable.
