Done for now. This game at the moment posses 1094 vehicles, so it will take some time.
Not all vehicles are cars and trucks. Blimps, airplanes, helicopters, hovercrafts, paddle steamers, speedboats, locomotives, trains, cycles, trams etc.

I've got this game, and its really fun, and is quite cheap.

The premise is simple. You drive along in any vehicle, and when the time limiter runs out a massive alien appears and attempts to crush you. Each stage is one year in the future, and you must reach 2055. The game actually starts in the mid-80s, however you can start in 1950 (which I recommend). The game also has loads of pre-1950 cars, including many early 1890s vehicles.

The game does have over 1000 vehicles, and as time goes on each vehicle type updates, and new vehicle types are introduced overtime (e.g. crossovers appear after the mid 2000s)

The future vehicles are the most interesting. The 2020s cars are recognizable, just with larger windows, more hybrids and more streamlined. The 2030s introduces the first flying and self-driving cars, and the vehicles themselves become more rounded and glassy. In the 2040s, everything is now electric and look like sci-fi creations. Magnet cars are introduced, somehow powered by magnets on special magnetic roads. In the 2050s, vehicles are now powered by plasma (somehow) and they all float. They don't even resemble cars anymore, just box-like shapes that travel at mind-boggling speed.

Its really interesting to see the progression of vehicle design overtime-it all feels so natural and realistic as vehicles are phased in over time like in real life.

It's rather hilarious when a vehicle from a long ago period appears in the later game. I once entered a steam-powered 1893 steam roller in 2049.

stryder237 EN (3)

2016-04-24 17:20

The vehicles don't have surnames, apart from generic ones like "station wagon" or "hatchback". When you enter a vehicle, a year and a name is presented, but the names are always randomly chosen from a list and change with each vehicle.

Interestingly, all trailers, caravans, caboose, and even satellites are counted as the "1092 vehicles". Still, the variations of each veicles from each era are very impressive.

This does because you can fit them with engines.

@ M@xtimot: nope, because that is a game modification and we only allow base cars. And anyway, a locomotive with a tire stays a locomotive and doesnt become a car by that. You can do this to almost any vehicle in this game, which would make this a little bit too over the top for our page.

What makes it so addictive? The massive amount of various cars over many periods and the funny stuff you can do. For example once i was driving the tram and you cant change lanes with that. Five meters before the safe zone the alien caught up with me and i crashed with a second tram on my lane. I bumped it so often that my tram broke down. I jumped out and got in the second tram, rolled further to the safe zone, but the alien chomped on it so it also broke down just a breath away of the safe zone. So i jumped out again and ran into the safe zone.

"They see me rollin', they're hatin'..."

Give me one AAA game with that much of vehicle diversity AND a great arcade-y gameplay like this one. There is no need for realistic graphics in a game that speaks in another level so much to me and my childhood buddy-who-runs-on-the-landscape during roadtrips.

I send the picture with the same size as they are in the game, but I didn't thought the uploading compression would fuck them up given how little their file size is. I figured out a way to make them bigger without using gimp though, but replacing the old pictures here won't be easy I guess. I mean the mods don't even replace the "other side" pictures I've sent by mistake on other games...

Quick question for future additions: Do "plasma car" and "magnetic car" (cars that floats slightly over the ground, but are still cars somehow) have to be added? Like the flying cars (which mostly flies in the game) that has been added on the list?
By the way, do "personnal transport" (label containing mostly bicycles and stuff) that aren't human-powered have to be listed here as well? Like is an electric-powered bicycle a moped bike somehow?

Most of the vehicles in Overwatch are floating over the ground, yet we still listed all of them here. So I think it's ok.

I don't think so, Slobodan Stevic knows and likes IGCD, and claimed he was really happy to see his game listed here; I just think he was unaware of the trouble a redesign would bring here. Hey everyone, Slobodan here, the dev. Had problems creating an account, so I couldn't post earlier, but I just wanted to say that I'm super thankful and glad for all the hard work you've put here! I've spent hours checking out all the pages since, and I'm totally aware of the problems the recent vehicle redesign causes. The change came in order to standardize all the vehicles, so that, among other reasons, it would be easier to design and add new ones later on. As far as IGCD is concerned, I could generate images of all road vehicles in a higher resolution and send them to someone here, if that would be helpful. Just let me know, I'll do what I can.

On the other hand, you don't need great 3D HD graphics for VR in order to get a good game; y'all talk shit about early access games and delayed release date, but "making the developpement easier" also means a gain of time that wasn't spent in trivial things like graphics. And you're not cool just because you dislike pixel art.

I wouldn't imagine how long it would take to make a game like this one with acceptable 3D.

(speaking of VR, Altfuture is totally able to make games with decent 3D graphics).

This kind of game would do well with any kind of graphics, even late 90s 3d would work, though yes, developing all those 3d models might take awhile, and the game would look significantly different in 3d, for instance there would be a lot more airlanes and it would be difficult to see cars comming up behind you. Its not really something that can be done by one person

JFK CZ (317)

2017-05-18 20:08

Doing 3D car with good mesh but with 90s look takes me about 1-2 days to produce, meaning it would take like 3+ years to make the models alone, if we exclude the fact that one person would be burned out in 2 weeks with this pace.
