Similar to GT2000 on the PS2 and GT HD Concept for the PS3?

It's a GT with massive online multiplayer parts. They talk about countries against countries and fan makes against fan makes and a patnership with FIA.

It's not a partnership, it's even more than that. GT championships will now be recognized by the FIA. Which is bullshit if you ask me, but whatever.

Honestly really enjoying the idea they're going with this, is a nice way to freshen up the franchise a bit.
Hope that it pans out well and that Gran Turismo will finally be able to get back on its feet, now that it'll be on far superior hardware in terms of being able to develop on.

Not really sure if i like the idea behind this, plus it's just beta, would love to see some gameplay & change in physics, honestly GT6 didn't differ much from it's previous releases

What I meant was that like the two games I mentioned, I wondered if this one had a similar concept (teasing GT7, as GT2000 teased GT3, and GT HD Concept teased GT5. Also, being a concept for the series on that system, thus using the engine from an older game (GT2000 used GT2's engine, and GT HD Concept used GT4's engine), so I bet this uses GT6's engine)

This is a fully sanctioned FIA Gran Turismo, so I think it focuses on motor sports the most. Like how new Forza 6 decided that actual race cars is a good idea (who knew) The access for this is early 2016 console sims have finally starting to focus on Motorsport itself. No words on the actual GT7 though

I hope this game brings the GT series back to where it was in its early days. No FPS drops, no loooonnng loading screens, and none of the "Standard" car models which basically date back to 2000. In fact, watch this early GT3 build from 2000 and tell me the cars aren't identical to GT6. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLQYu3cg6eM

The fact Polyphony re-used PS2 models for their PS3 games is well known. Sadly, GT7 will still re-use standard models:

AutoTracker US (142)

It seriously scares me that Polyphony does this though. Instead of making new car models, they reuse ones that date back to the beginning of the 21st century, even though I see why they do this, possibly to save time.

Burn Rubber US (346)

2016-01-10 18:07

Why is this such a big deal??????

People don't even USE half the cars in the game so why bother taking time and effort to make new models for them?

You and I guess everyone else?

All I ever see is "GT4 Models were used in GT6"

Who gives a damn!? No one uses the Diahatsu Move but me, so why waste time making a new model for that when they could be doing better things? Personally I don't care about it. GT4 was great, So the fact that the two games are similar are nostalgic to me. Cause GT4 no longer works on my PS2. (Its not scratched, So It just stopped I guess)

But I guess some people can't get past the fact that the cars are GT4 models and actually enjoy the game.

Tycek PL (169)

2016-01-10 19:13

People give a damn, because all these standard cars look like crap in AAA title, which was example of great series of games in PS2 era. Polyphony became terribly lazy since these days, reusing old models just to fill the car list and live of the "biggest car list" label they honestly get with GT4.

If nobody is using these cars as you said, what is the point in adding them? Polyphony may just cut them out and release the game with 400 vehicles for example. They won't do it, because of one reason though. They got nothing else apart from the car list and the game is ten lengths behind the Forza series, because when the racing games were evolving, Yamauchi still thought you can get players, by selling them the same crap twenty times in a row.

Burn Rubber US (346)

I still care about Gran Turismo. Even if I'm the only one. Especially when you don't want to play $500 for a stupid next gen console that REQUIRES a constant Internet connection to even USE.

Tycek PL (169)

2016-01-10 19:56

Judging by the fact that GT was always Playstation exclusive title, you don't have much choice other than getting 500$ stupid next gen console that REQUIRES a constant Internet connection to even use.

AutoTracker US (142)

I don't think this is the biggest issue with GT games right now. I like to have these cars available, and you don't have to use them if you don't want to. I would leave them there (updating as much of them as possible to premium) and focus on more important modifications, like better AI, better sound quality and damage physics, real endurance races (not 24 minute wannabes) and more race variety (GT4, for example, had many more races and challenges than GT5 or GT6, and took longer to complete).

alatriste2003 ES (18)

2016-02-12 15:57

I know here are many GT fans, but come on, the game must be called ''The Real Brick Simulator''. The driving is like a concrete block. OK, one of the things I like a lot is the car list, but, give me more variety. Most car are japanese, I can stand, the game is japanese, but, for example, one f*ck*ng Seat from 2004 reused GT4? Are you kidding me? The same goes for other popular brands that only have one car or a few. Also hate the Standar and premium lines, please put all the cars with interior. I can stand this in GT5 that is the first game with interior view, but in GT7 you can not do the same. If I pay the price of a new game, I want differences between GT5 and GT7.

Here are my changes needed for GT7:
Updated car models. (The cars look like they were build out of Legos sometimes)
A different car list. (Like maybe cars the world forgot like Opel GT and Ford Sierra instead of the SAME OLD CRAP WE'VE SEEN FOR 3 GAMES)
Updated driving controls. (For a game that says its the "Real Driving Simulator", The cars handle like play doh.)
Actual DAMAGE! (Not scratches on the whole car that are ugly AF)
A balanced AI. (Not ridiculously fast or crazy slow. Balanced.)
Semi-interesting career mode. (GT6's was booooooringggg.)

No this is photo mode been around since gt4 where you can go to different locations around the world, it's a full sanction FIA GT , so basically it's the complete opposite. It should have all rules and regulations and that kind of thing

Read some YouTube comments, surprisingly a lot of them where negative. Mainly about the bad graphics. Am I missing something here. The game looks great for its magnitude. The dumbest thing I read is people comparing it to DC, graphically.

Automotive Gaming IT (32)

The game looks in every aspect like a "Gran Turismo 6.5" so not a whole new and different game for the PS4 as how everyone expected.
Engine sounds are improved, thanks to the help of Turn10 ex-audio lead, but still nothing exciting compared to nowadays standards.
Graphics are bland for the same reason. More or less seems like PD got stuck in the past, since they are making this "new" game which looks old already.

My only question is: how's this possible since PD is an internal Sony game brand? Did they run out of money? I seriously doubt that.

The game looks really good. But it's got realistic graphics, so it looks a bit dark and bland most of the time, like the real world.

speedfreak975 LB (75)

2016-05-22 20:51

To be honest that's how I viewed almost every GT after GT4,especially GT5 what a disappointing game it was. I think GT tries to stick to realistic graphics, their color filters aren't vibrant as AC and Project cars per say especially Forza. GT might have reached its climax who knows. I personally saw the gameplay trailer and I was a tad disappointed but graphics did improve.and the fact it's been in the dark for so long might have shifted the tide. Not everyone waits. They are not broke off course but they are like sloths. Too slow and usually what they offer isn't worth the time....no offense

AutoTracker US (142)

2016-08-01 14:33

Good news or bad news, depending on your opinion: GT Sport may end up featuring around 500 cars. While it's the first major car list reduction since GT3, it's still 500 cars, which is more than FH3 features at the moment.

speedfreak975 LB (75)

2016-08-01 22:02

no offense but you can't compare FH3 car count with GT sport. The fact that a open world map that is bigger than GTA5 more vibrant than half the open world games somehow placed over 350 cars is huge. compare it to FM6 is more reasonable

AutoTracker US (142)

Well for those thinking GT Sport was going to be just a spinoff, think again. Kaz has come out and said that he and the PD team will consider this a full GT game, and they even consider it as GT7. In fact, he may have revealed an early title for this game: Gran Turismo 7: Sport

Well they weren't going to release a new game on the PS3. :p
So they did it Codemasters style. Take a game, and randomly start naming the sequels with different names (ToCa -> ToCa Race Driver -> Race Driver Grid -> Grid 2 -> Grid Autosport or Colin McRae Rally -> Colin McRae DiRT -> DiRT 2 -> DiRT Rally...).

Well, I hope they use that time to fix some issues before the game is launched. I prefer a late game to an incomplete one.

I'm personally quite worried about this game. Yes, the graphics are better; yes, standard cars are gone; yes, there is a fncy new photo mode... but the gameplay (the most important aspect of any game) looks the same as always and there is still no proper damage mode (something they've been promising for a long time).

Also: is it just me or is the car list awful? I'm not saying there are too few cars, or that they are bad. What I mean is there's no variety. Aside from the Vision GT cars they are all brand new cars or vehicles we see in countless games. I'm not saying they shouldn't be here, but I miss seeing classic and uncommon vehicles. Look at the FH3 list! You can see the popular cars we all know, but also classic cars from different decades or weird (to me) Australian cars I never heard about. Gran Turismo should have a more special list rather than what we see a million times each year.

speedfreak975 LB (75)

And this is why I never really was a fan of GT. It calls itself the "Real Driving Simulator", yet they can't even standardize a proper damage model, and it feels nothing like a simulator. Everything handles like a boat, half the car list is full of standard cars, that they apparently can't split pieces of to make them damage better, most of the cars sound like vacuum cleaners, and the car list has been recycled with few new cars each time. To be honest, I'd like to see them one day break the car list barrier of GT2, and they know they could do it, but they don't want to. It's sad that half the game is just filled with mostly brand new 15, 14, 17 and 16 cars, racing, and visions included.

My problem is, why can't we have some cars that haven't seen the light of day in forever?
Ford Puma?
Mercury Cougar?
Chrysler Firepower?
Dodge Copperhead?

I always preferred Forza more, mainly since it has a proper damage model, which to me helps spice up the game, but what GT could really use for a change is 8-Ball racing. Though it is kinda strange, I wouldn't mind stripping down a car in GT, (Something you barely do in any games nowadays.) slapping together a paintjob with a random number, and throwing it against some other bangers for a mildly destructive race. (Or of course making a few fictional cars like GRID did with the Eagleray.)

To me, GT just needs a little touch of "Cool" to make it stand out a bit more, instead of being the Call of Duty of racing games. For once, GT needs a change but I highly doubt it'll happen knowing Polyphony.

Me too. I'd like to see GT be unique instead of "That one racing game".

Pre-orders allegedly cancelled because Sony 'doesn't have a new release date'. Oh my god im so shocked -_-. polyphony seriously needs to get their shit straightened before revealing a launch date and then canceling it.

if admins could remove 2016 from the page, its a 2017 ....till now. this is polyphony it might be 2018

Realistically it's a good thing. Publishers that force launch dates on studios without the flexibility to revise those dates are the prime reason why unfinished, buggy and poorly optimised games get onto the market. Since Sony has that flexibility (and common sense), it allows Polyphony to deliver a better game, which I'm sure will still appear in good time.

I understand your point of view however Sony specifically Polyphony has made this a thing GT6 went through the same number of delays and it wasn't that....outstanding. im not saying it was bad. but you have to remember the more the thing gets delayed . ...the bigger the expectations

Hard to believe... it was on this day one year ago that GT Sport was announced at the Paris Game Week 2015. We would've had it in our hands next month if Polyphony wasn't Polyphony.

What about the game??? Today is 2nd February and the game still isn't released.

BTW: The game shares the same has the Prologue/Concept versions of Gran Turismo games?

Guess who's been announced to be the official timekeeper of GT Sport? TAG Heuer!

Kinda like how Seiko was the official timekeeper of GT2, GT3, and GT4.

After it was originally supposed to have a beta about a year ago, a new closed beta for GT Sport has been announced. It starts March 17th in North America, and it will start sometime after that in Europe. You can sign up here: www.playstation.com/en-us/campaigns/2017/gran-turismo-sport-beta-sign-up/

Well it's Polyphony. They will probably never announce a closed beta. It was like Gran Turismo 5, they delayed the game numerous times, and keep dormant about it until the last second.

The game was supposed to be released sometime in early February, but I presume it's delayed, so the release date is unknown. Hell, I don't even know if the game even in the BETA stage yet.

At this moment i had just try Hyundai Genesis on Willow Springs and Nissan GT-R GT4 on Dragon Seaside. I don't know what you want to know precisely. For me at first opinion it's an enhanced GT. I'm not surprised.

i don't see a Ferrari in the Beta at this time. Photorealistic? For me no. Environment isn't very impressive. It's good but not realistic or impressive. I had see a little clipping sometime in the trees for examples. The trees, houses etc are too proper. As if all the elements are new and not used.
I had won McLaren 650S GT3 and use it in Nurburgring Nordschleife.

IMO & from what I can see or tell, the game is going on for a strong start, This is probably what GT6 should've been, and GT6 is what GT5 should've been, if they continued this way, the game would be day one sold out for me

Here's the final list of locations in GT Sport: www.gtplanet.net/gran-turismo-sport-track-list/

The only new, previously unanounced place I see is a track called BB Raceway. Kinda sounds similar to Midfield Raceway to me.

I hope the game has more Porsches, even if it's a Cayman.
