Oh good lord, look at these graphics - they're even poorer as the graphics of the first "Driver"!

Graphics don't matter in games, and they're a bit better than D1 PC.

Just a bit better, but I still like the first Driver. Especially the mission in L.A. where you have to "steal" (you only drive it) the cop car.

I believe graphics DO matter, not in being realistic, but in getting the mood of the game right, and making the gameplay feel friendly while adding some eye candy.
In this one I think they got the cars' reflections really bad. Having no reflections would have been better than those weird purple ones that make all cars look too shiny and hard to tell which car is which. And I think they did an awful job with the vegetation, it looks too bright and it distracts you from the action. And the textures for the shops on the street, especially the windows, look too unrealistic, as oposed to some of the cars and the city background on the horizon. And the shading looks wrong. It's like you can't tell if the game tries to be realistic or cartoonish.
They should have studied old PS1 games like World's Scariest Police Chases, or that cancelled game called Colors for the Gizmondo (a short lived hand held console), instead of trying to make it look like Vice City and failing. And seriously, it's not like gameloft can't do something better if they try.
I played the demo of this game on my ipod touch and I hated the controls but I would have given it a chance if the graphics were better.
Just my opinion :P

NO! Don't even compare this crap with Driver. They gave the Driver source code to Gameloft and look what they did.

Best thing about Driver not even single Gameloft has - modding community and tools.

Oh, I like one part of the graphics (which makes them a bit better than Driver) - the mirrors on the cars are really visible from the front and the back - Driver hasn't this feature (okay, the game was released 14 years ago). But Gameloft could've done this game better. It really looks like a very low-budget Vice City or Driver.

Driver has a modding community? GTA has one, of course (but I never use mods for GTA because I want an original game with original cars). But I didn't know that people make mods for Driver (almost 14 years after it's release).

Yeah, check out drivermadness.net

I am currently making a total modification for Driver.
